I don't think any of us will have issues with gathering crew from the TPU org

I'll be running a freelancer primarily and will need a second, plus my cutlass holds a second crew as well, and most of us here are running LTI. We'll probably end up setting something up for the Org to list out our preferred roles and skill sets for joining up as crewmates.

Yeah, I have two characters I'm going to make, one is going to be piracy/smuggling, the other multi-role. That being said, if any of you guys need some not-so-legal cargo moved, you know who to call. If it'll fit in the cargo bay of the 350r, chances are I'll have it to its destination before you make it there to pick it up

If it won't fit in the 350, I've still got ya covered with the Cutlass, but you may beat me to the rendezvous.

Wingman confirmed that the OR will get support in the Hangar patch (due out in the next week or so for anyone with an OR dev kit). Today's WMH was also fantastic - loads of new info (dogfighting due 10-13th April subject to change).

I got an email yesterday telling me that my Oculus Rift order is moving to processed and once it's processed I can't change my order. It would be great to get it next week. I'll get my ship package when it arrives if I can use my rift with the hanger module. :toast:

Looks gorgeous! So, we're getting a patch this week or next for the hangar, then for the patch after that, it's all going to be PBR! I'll take a guess that the dog fighting module will come out around this time as well.

It works well enough for the hangar and most likely the dog fighting module (since it's rather simple), but when it comes to the persistent universe, low settings will be needed. There's going to be a lot of graphics options to work with, so even with a 7970 you'll be able to play it and it look good.

I was hoping my 7970 CFX would be enough for high at 1440p (or 1080p on a Rift)...
They previously said (I think it was a WH episode) that the DFM will use the latest in-game assets, so it'll be a good stress test for our hardware. Also mentioned was the fact that this is early alpha code and far from optimized.
Then there's the inclusion of Mantle support later on that will make GCN cards that much more efficient...

I've been very tempted to buy in, but obviously it's still in the dev stage, and I'm not sure how good I'd be at gettng it set up and using it with my games instead of a monitor. I think I'd literally replace my monitors with it, the head tracking in games would merely be a plus side.

Yea, I can't wait to try it, and SC is a big reason I wanted to get it so soon. I have a few projects of my own I want to start working on. I don't want to crap up this thread with just OR talk. I'll create an Oculus Rift Club house or just a VR Club house so it covers it all. There is a lot of good projects going on. I've watch a few Youtube videos of people using OR with SC and I'm excited. I'll post what I think about OR with SC when I test it out. :toast:

I'm pretty interested in seeing how easy it is to set up, and I'd be pretty greatful if you could post how you find it/set it up/how games perform/how your brain copes with the change in great detail! Also if you think it's worth it. I'm also wondering how much of a difference it makes to games that don't use the head tracking in any shape or form, along the lines of it merely acting as a monitor.
I'll stop thread crapping about OR now...
