I was going to buy a new case but then i thought why not try and remake my current case to something ima little more happy with. if it messes up then i can go ahead and buy a new case if not ive saved money and all is dandy.

Ive been messing around with google sketchup to come up with these design's. So far it just the front fascia.

Heres the sketch up file if anyone wants a more indepth look at what im planning.

My case has a raised out bit which has like a see through plastic attached to the front by some small screws.

What im planning on doing is removing this plastic and filling the space with mesh, black, then painting the bit under the mesh a lime green. (Im going for black and lime green as my colour scheme).

Then removing the hdd bays and having two 120mm fans attached to the front in the space of the floppy drives. Using bits from the current hdd bays im going to fabricate a way to attach a cage to hold about 2-3 hdds in front of one of the two fans. I still need to decide on button and LED placement but im still in the design stage and aquireing matterials. The case will be black but i change the colour in the moddels to black you cannot see the detail as well.

whats your opinion on this design for the hdd cage over the first idea a few posts up? Would aid cooling of the hdd and overall case temps or hinder it?
