I recently built my system, and have had a million problems (fans leaking oil, ect). Now, when I updated my BIOS from 0402 to 0701, it just won't work. I've tried resetting the CMOS, and removing the battery, and nothing works. I'm pretty frustrated because I just can't do anything, other than hear the POST sound.

Any ideas? I'm 100% lost here.

By thhe way, at that point, the little blue LCD says "testing vram" but that shouldn't be the problem.

Could be a bad power supply, bad ground, or your bios is corrupted. Try posting the board out side the case (on top of a card board box) with bare minimal hardware (cpu, 1x stick of memory, and video card).

I'm pretty sure the BIOS is corrupted. Can I reset that memory somehow?

It used to work (with a previous update version), so I just don't know what the problem is. I do only have one more day to RMA it though, so maybe that would be the best option? Unless I can delete 0701 somehow?

I bought it the 24th... I'd assume if I ship it tomorrow, it will still count as within my one month with Newegg?

EDIT: Wow, forgot it is only the 12th. Awesome. Still doesn't fix it though!

Maybe pull a stick of ram out, reboot and download Vista SP1 as it will have the 4gb fix, I assume your using 4GB? I've had simiilar problems, when the fix is downloaded it solved mine.

the striker II bios problem has happend to a lot of people, for some reason it corrupts th bios data.
on frozen cpu they sell a device that can backup the original bios , switch a switch and then install bios update, if the bios fails... simply flip the switch, i had it on my old computer.
