I was able to make a budget build back then (well I haven't really made it but it was around 600-700 $ )

This was the build

AMD FX 6100
MSI 880GMS-E41FX
G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1333
EVGA GTX 660 SC
Fractal Core 1000
Antec Neo ECO 520w
500GB WD Green 7200 rpm
Lite-On Combo drive
Logitech Kboard+ Mouse

forgot the individual prices but total is around $675.

that leaves 325 for everything else.... the FX isn't a bad processor tho, he's not asking to play on max details. Plus maybe he doesn't really need 1080p (just sayin...)

So, the summary of what you want:

Budget: 1000 USD

Requirements:
Runs recent games on good settings
Record/process video for youtube
Needs to Run Battlefield 3 on good settings

Currently Have:
2 monitors

Need:
Complete computer tower

Correct?

Assuming so:
DVD Drive: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM
Case: GIGABYTE GZ-F5HEB Black SECC Steel / ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
HDD: Seagate Barracuda STBD3000100 3TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
GPU: PowerColor AX7850 2GBD5-DH Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W Bronze W0382RU ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular ...
MOBO: ASRock Z77 Extreme3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit - OEM

Total: $964.92 on www.newegg.com
Not Included: CPU cooler ($30 should buy you a good air cooler)

The CPU is a quad core (no hyper threading, but unlocked). The GPU is strong enough, as the 7850 shouldn't balk at anything short of Battlefield 3 on Ultra. You can change cases and cooling options to your liking, but the ones quoted should play well. HDDs are still expensive (no $80 2 TB currently exists, outside of sales), but 3 TB should give you plenty of room to expand. I chose windows 7 over windows 8. It's a personal preference, so you can decide if you'd like to be on the windows 8 band wagon.

Is that what you were looking for?

Edit: If you can get the 3570 and mobo cheaper then blow the money on a better GPU. I choose newegg because I can't get to Atlanta Georgia..ever... Lucky you (concentrated jealousy).

Also, remember tax. Newegg won't charge tax (but they might charge shipping), so you pay what you see. $1000 at microcenter (assuming 6% tax rate) only buys $943.39 worth of computer.

EDIT:
IDIOT!
I forgot the RAM. Sorry for my stupidity.
GeIL Black Dragon 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model GB38GB1333C9DC
Adds $28.99
Factor in the discounts on the other stuff, and you should still be under $1000. Dang, I feel foolish.

Nice job lil. And that CPU is only $169 plus $40 off that board at MC as I said earlier. Many locations will price match Newegg too.

As for OS whatever is cheaper.
