Hmm, your worried about Intel's Yorkfield when the Phenom is only a few short weeks away as well!? Personal preference, I suppose so to each his own.

Also, I found it a bit ironic that a brit such as yourself is now going with memory (Patriot) that is "made in america!" The only memory in the world that is made in america, might I add! ;) :D

Anyhow, don't mind me, just wanted to add my 2 cents and random incoherent thoughts!

EDIT - Damnit, nflesher87! You have this uncanny habbit of beating me to the post (points above)! :D

Worried about Yorkfield? not at all, drooling at the thought more like, I would happly lay a wager on with anyone who thinks that Phenom will match it for speed on release whether at stock or at max overclock.....and I am an AMD fanboi  Was brought up on AMD platforms, care to get your hard earned dollars out? :rockout:

Ohhhh and lastly, exactly the same chips in the Patriot I have ordered as in the BEST crucial 8500's............D9GMH (B6-3), so same memory, different colour heatspredder........and it comes from my friends across the pond....even better, I like to plough a little back into their shall we say, thought provoking economy :D

I hear what you are saying but I will get at least 130mhz extra speed outta them, but the real selling point is.............1110mhz @ 4-4-4-10 ;) My 5300 Crucials just wont get near that, I am on 5-5-5-15 for those speeds and these Patriots were really cheap, I can probably sell my crucials for what I paid for them, they were only the equivilent to $15 more than OCZ Gold DDR800 that stocked at 5-4-4-18!!

and what I'm saying is you will honestly see no performance gain by obtaining that much higher clocks and tighter timings, believe me, it's just not worth spending the money on a new set when you could be putting that cash towards something more cost/performance effective! Please trust me on this! :)
