This is the beauty of computer builds isn't it? Everyone can make it fit their usage

I personally care about peripherals because a cheap mouse and keyboard DOES affect my gaming and productivity and comfort. Bad headphones will kill my gaming experience as sound is important for me and headphone comfort is a huge thing. I care about the case because I do care about noise and heat / life of my hardware . 10$ extra for a very good cpu cooler is worth it for me because I might actually over clock

This build is pure performance all the way - there are NO investments in terms of silence or longevity/durability of the essential components that will last several builds (and are the best investment long term!). The PSU is loud at load (and will be audible most of all parts while gaming). The case is a total abomination with no sound dampening whatsoever and only a single case fan (which will be spinning faster to keep temps in check).

GTX 980ti is the highest performance, but also a relatively highly priced part of the build. I would have knocked that down a notch to have decent build components elsewhere, most notably the case and PSU. You could get an EVGA G2 for that along with a solid case like Fractal Define R5. Then when you switch that GTX 980 out in a couple of years, you won't be thinking about case or psu. And when you build system number two five to seven years ahead, you STILL won't be switching case or PSU...

Spending top dollar on the best GPU money can buy seems smart but really never is. Better to step down a tier, because GPU horsepower develops faster than any other part of a gaming system. Next year you sell the old card and renew it for more performance at a similar price of the card you sold, and so on... This way you also stay with the newer feature sets and arch improvements.,

$18 headphones with a $1700 rig should be a crime.

Otherwise, I would downgrade the GPU to a 970 and get a better case + 512 GB SSD + better peripherals.

i would, actually i did few years ago. 2x8800 gt costed ~500 eur
case costed 35eur. pc case is not so important in many cases lol :)

i do not understand 100+ $ cases

I thought the same thing for over 10 yrs. I never bought a case that cost more than $40.

But I recently decided to upgrade to an Arc Midi R2 and now am slapping myself for not doing it earlier. I figured a case is something you will keep for a very long time, so it can definitely be worth it.

Better cooling, noise suppression, no rattling, cable management, and most importantly the quality-of-life improvements that make assembling and adding/removing components so much easier compared to my previous cases. I love it.
