Hey everyone,

Bought a Sapphire X800 GTO about a month ago, loaded ATI tool and overclocked to Core= 427.50, Mem= 542.25. It idled at about 34 or 35 degrees, but now is idling at 43 degrees and my system crashed once today playing COD2, so I dropped to default setting. Has anyone else had temp increases and how common are your shut downs with this card? Thanks.

Something is not ok here. Because i think that x800gto normaly can work up to 80°c,
like almost all other cards. Problem is somwhere else.
Check directx version, card drivers, etc..

My X800XL , in idle is 40, and in full load goes around 70. Than i installed a case fan and the temps are in idle 33, and full load 55.

try cleaning out the heatsink and fan, and if that doesn't work, replace the thermal grease with as5, mx-1 or ceramique. But i definatly recomend getting the arctic cooling ATI silencer for it. It's a lot quieter, and cools a lot better.

hey guys, I'd just like to ask you to stick your head out the window and feel how much warmer it is outside . Its not your fault, its the weather's. Hardware can't disperse heat as easily when its warmer outside lol.
