I have 2 8800GS SC's rocking in SLI on my 2nd gaming rig. A single one is pound for pound equal to my HD3850 on my main rig. In SLI its pretty sick. EVGA's Overclocked SC model makes the 8800GS pretty slick. I am pretty convinced they are holding back the 8 series performance by drivers as a marketing gimmick. A G92 in a 8 is no different in a G92 in a 9 except for the number of SP/ROP/TPUs they choose for a specific SKU.

the only resolution they ran was 1280x1024, the 8800GS 384 or 9600GSO 384/768 will win because no engine utilizes more than 256mbs of memory at that resolution therefor the 96 Shaders on the GS or GSO are the benefactor. it's the same with the 8800GT 256 if you put it in the mix at 1280x1024 the 112 Shaders will beat out both cards.
