when you use VLC Player on Windows 7. you may get an error “No video is displayed”

here is how to fix it:

1. Launch VLC Media Player and then click on TOOLS>>PREFERENCES on the MAIN MENU

2. Now, under the Preferences windows, click on VIDEO on left navigation panel

3. Now you need to click on the drop down menu for Output. Here, you need either select WINDOWS GDI VIDEO OUTPUT or DIRECTX VIDEO OUTPUT as the eligible output.

4. Restart your VLC Media Player.

What version of VLC are you using? Mine has not ever done that but thanks for heads up in case it does in the future.

i don't know what version it was, i was at a friends house, and they were having issues with it. =)

As a side note, of off their latest builds i had no issues running it on win7

Yep, it worked fine for me. I have been having problems playing certain movies though, I'll open them with VLC and it just sits there, doesn't open up the movie or anything.
