    Here are a couple you can put up if you wish...

    I let a few folks here try these out earlier this year...

    (Solaris17, & the other "Matrix-Oriented" mods + around 10 or so other folks that were not mods (sorry I forgot exactly who by now) & via their return "PM" & email replies after testing them out, gave them BOTH favorable/good reviews (& better in some cases)... E.G.-> Solaris17 stated to me that when he does his next software CD, mine will be on it (vs. another registry cleaner he was previously into & using) on these 2 files)

    APK Registry Cleaning Engine 2002++ SR-7

    (Multi-Threaded design along w/ built-in CPU priority allotment (from LOW, to NORMAL, to HIGH, to REALTIME (not for single-cpu rigs)), & has outdone versions by Microsoft, Norton/Symantec, AShampoo, Juoni Vuorio, & others who have created registry cleaners everytime in tests on various forums, w/ users OWN registry unaltered by .reg file injection of "test" (rigged) datasets!)

    Screenshot:

    [IMG]

    &

    APK Matrix ScreenSaver

    (This one's multi-threaded design, & multi-monitor up to 1600x1200 resolutions & 3 monitors of "normal" configuration (not including flatscreens w/ their 'offbeat' resolutions possible)).

    Screenshot:

    [IMG]

    :)

    * Downloadable attachments are below!

    APK

    P.S.=> I hope I understood what you meant here in this thread!

    These are 2 of my "better/best" creation efforts outta my time in the shareware/freeware circuit, circa 1995-2002, imo @ least... Do enjoy them! apk

    :)

    * I can assure you all that what I put up last page is NOT that type of material though... see these screenshots:

    Ah, makes sense - I will be there shortly as well, feeling a 'bit under the weather' today!

    Reason being, is that since yesterday was a Holiday? A neighbor of mine whom I play chess regularly with went on a "Wine Tasting" tour yesterday near my area, ala the film "SIDEWAYS", lol... well, not quite THAT nutty, but, close!

    (We hit the "Cayuga Wine Trail" in the Geneva N.Y. area, near HOBART college - recommend it to ANYONE, for 'culture' & some DAMN fine wine too - BlueBerry Wine ROX! Keeps the essence of blueberry even on "dry" (0% residual sugar) wines... unlike grapes, even thru the oak taste the kegs give it! Some of the world's FINEST wines actually do come out of N.Y. State, believe-it-or-not...)

    :)

    Why I put a 'smiley' in there? I have NO idea... I am NOT feeling that way today, by any means, lol... but, sure did yesterday, ALL day! Hey, after stopping @ oh, 10 of them yesterday??

    Well, you get the point - it (wine) puts a smile on your puss!

    Don't give up on stuff like that... it adds to this website's uniqueness & all that!

    AM-DeadLink 2.8.1 - is it in the D/L section?

    See my subject-line/title of this thread above... & if it is NOT here on the site for D/L?

    Maybe it ought to be... it IS quite useful! If you are like myself? I have over 3,200 pages bookmarked in Opera!

    What the program does/can do, is:

    1.) Check your bookmarks (IE, Opera, FireFox/Mozilla, etc.) for validity, & check for literally, "dead" links...

    (So you can either try to update them, or just burn them from your favs/bookmarks files (Opera & FireFox/Mozilla) or folders (IE))

    2.) It also does "grep-type" search thru your bookmarks too!

    3.) AND, Much more like bookmarks/favs backup & more too...

    :)

    * I figure since this is a technical oriented site? You guys have fairly extensive favs/bookmarks saved as well for points of reference... & might want to 'inventory them for validity or update' using this tool!

    APK

    P.S.=> Here is its download site:

    AM DeadLink 2.8.1 download:

    http://www.aignes.com/deadlink.htm

    P.S.S.=> I didn't know whether to put this HERE, or in the other thread SLATER did... so, since this is newer, & I already contributed @ that thread more? Here it is, here instead... apk

    Well, the others I put up did pretty ok so far on D/L counts!

    (E.G. -> in a week the 2 progs I put up earlier did 350 D/L's or so when coupled w/ the first time I let folks here try them, around 20-25 tested them)

    Also, some decent reviews by folks (via email from the first time I put them out to the mods & folks like Solaris17, noted earlier in this thread no less)...

    So, that said?

    I will put out a couple more I did over time that are decent enough you may wish to try out or use:

    ====================================

    APK StartBar Tools 1.0++:

    PURPOSE: To sit under the START button on the Windows "StartBar" & function as a QUICK-ACCESS to Explorer.exe drives present on your system... integrates natively/FULLY right into the Windows StartBar beneath the START button (you may have to raise your startbar to see it).

    (Runs in the background unobtrusively via LOW CPU PRIORITY when running, so it consumes less system resources etc. & is also multithread design as well & only uses 1084k of RAM!)

    Screenshot:

    [IMG]

    ----------------------------------------------

    APK Duplicate File Finder Engine 2.0++:

    PURPOSE: To find files that are PERFECT duplicates of one another on your disks, to help you avoid DLL Hell (the bigger concern imo) & to save diskspace (not a huge concern nowadays on today' larger disks).

    The program does so via 5 known & respected algorithm engines for comparison's sake in FileName/FileTimeDateStamp/FileVersion (executables only)/CRC-32/512 byte checksumming...

    (Runs in the background unobtrusively as a tooltray icon via Built-in "CPU Priority Control" if needed, OR @ MEDIUM to HIGHER speeds (via realtime &/or HIGH cpu, realtime only recommended for DualCore/SMP rigs & is also of multithreaded construction))

    Screenshot:

    [IMG]

    ----------------------------------------------

    APK ExeProtect Engine 2.0++:

    PURPOSE: To find files that are of EXECUTABLE TYPE, & apply (or, remove) +R "read-only" attributes to those types of files to help protect your system against damage (either user driven accidental deletes/renames etc. OR those from Virus/Spyware/Malware etc. to some extent)...

    IT COVERS APPROXIMATELY 15 EXECUTABLE FILE TYPES AS THOSE IT PROTECTS (see program internal help panels documentation for all types).

    Screenshot:

    ====================================

    :)

    * Enjoy...

    Should check w/ MS just to be sure on that one... but, I'd wager they'd let you post LINKS to their servers for it though, no matter what.

    APK

    P.S.=> Yes, that is a GOOD IDEA as one to post though, I agree! Especially on a forums FULL of gaming & high performance gaming oriented users largely... apk

    I have a copy of the last free X-Setup Pro in my possesion. As well as Aida32 and everest free edition. And the Windows 95 upgrade to overcome the 400Mhz barrier. And many, many, many other things in my 300Gb of collected crap from years of backing up and keeping everything.

    Even the games expantion pack for 3.1 that included Astroids, Missle Command, and Defender.
