I have a brand new, sealed 3570K that I'm planning on using for an upcoming build, but wonder if it would be any wise to trade it for a 2600K. I can probably do an even trade or pay minimal (since my 3570K is sealed) for the extra 4 threads and more cache, with the only caveat being the older architecture with a slightly lower IPC.
I don't do any encoding so there really is no reason to have the extra threads, but this rig needs to last me for the next 4 years and I might benefit from the extra threads down the road.
What would you guys do?
