Don't know if most of you know what Transmeta is or not, but they are a company who has done some amazing work with transistor leakage. They also make the Crusoe and Efficeon processors which are utterly outstanding in terms of performance vs heat output and power consumption. Transmeta has been forced to downsize and radically change course in order to slow the arterial bleeding still threatening to kill the company. Well it seems Sony has stepped in to put a "tourniquet" on the wound by paying for more than half of Transmeta's staff and refocusing them from processor manufacturing to IP license is finally paying off as Transmeta has posted a positive operating cash flow for Q2 of 2005.
