I wish I could find useful parts, most are quickly scavenged and end up on fleabay at ridiculous prices.

pity my thread with my epic wins had a different title, since i found an SSD in a pentium 4 and got an i7 laptop cheap cause there was chocolate inside it XD

Ha ha I still remember that thread. That was a nice little bonus.

I sent half a dozen OptiPlex 745 motherboards from work to BadCaps.net for recapping. They work fine now, after replacing the Pentium 4 with a Core 2 Duo E6700 (the fastest that the BIOS supports; $10 on eBay) and installing 8GB (4 x 2GB) of DDR2 memory. Not the fastest computer in the world, but it runs 64-bit Windows 7 and Mint Linux just fine.

I will do install Win7 and i hhave a E2180 here so it will be a kind of HTPC Netsurfing box plugged on flatscreen. Just use onboard graphic until i put my hand on a cheap or free low profile pci-e
