Damit my browser (IE7) freezes permanetly.. i have scanned with Avast antivirus, Spybot and Spyware Doctor i begin to wonder if it is because of TPU

I could be wrong too, but I have no problems, and NOD32 is doing fine to protect me. I have had no problems. Whatever it is, W1z needs to fix it, as lots of members are not gonna be able to view the tech news now!

I have had no problem at all lately. When I start up my computer and run FireFox the first thing is the TPU front page. AVG hasn't warned me or anything yet. But I will scan to see if I find anything.

I haven't gotten any problems using Firefox 3.0.5 with AdBlock and nothing has popped up in AVG or any other programs like AdAware. I'll run some scans to see if anything shows up.

ive had a prpblem for the last 48 hrs, most times when i got o connect to tpu or one of its pages i get a fire fox error just saying the the web page could not be found, then if i refresh the page and all is well

Found It!

Ok Iv managed to track it down. Its called TrojanDownloader:Win32/Swif.M.
Aliases:
Exploit.SWF.Downloader.ks (Kaspersky)
Exploit.SWF.Agent.e (Kaspersky)

You can avoid getting nailed by it by simply updating your Flash.

Ok, I just started up my browser and the home page is TPU, and nothing happened. But when I opened another tab it load a PDF file like adobe reader or something instead of being the home page for TPU. I don't know what is going on, but the main page might be trying to get hacked?

Well see thats the thing. I had just rebuilt my system and I hadn't got spybot yet. However even when I had it I was still attacked. The only thing that I know of that effectively blocks it is updating your flash. If your flash is up to date you shouldn't have any worries.

The ads we host are usually QNAP, Caseking, OCZ, etc....additionally we let the ad-agencies closest to you host ads. So you have ads specific to your region. I never end up with a tracking-cookie. Those from realmedia, etc., are harmless and can be easily removed/blocked. The ads I get ask me to buy overpriced Dell notebooks, invest in pension plans, etc., since the agency is local to me. Those 2~3 ads we have on the frontpage help support TPU. They are harmless, we have neither interests in nor intentions of violating your privacy.
