You do understand that most of the notebooks cpu's are soldered to the motherboard and are non removable, unless you desolder them and solder on a new one.
If that's what you want then have fun.

It's removable. I asked to compatible. I have not met with cpu which is couldn't take out from MB...

Although they use the same socket and are not BGA (soldered on), you are effectively upgrading to a newer processor and the older laptop's BIOS might not work with the i7.
The only way to find out is to try it.

It's not good solution for shopper... I try to sell i7. I don't have that notebook at home. :D
I thought that informations about this can be read from specs.

This really depends on the model, there are still (at least a few years back, dunno how things are right now) plenty of models with sockets.

Anyway those two does not share sockets. The number of pins might be the same but they're from different generations and are not pin compatible, socket G1 and G2. A first generation i7 might work though.

You do understand that these are two different generations of CPU's?
They are using different sockets, it simply wont work.

is any website where i can find that my CPU i7 2630QM could be upgraded on notebook which have for example i3 ?? I try to find a list of notebooks which can be upgraded. :pimp:
