Software Argh, Windows 10. I hated Windows 7. I hate Windows 10 more. Give me back XP!!!
I'm thinking of selling off my 670s on ebay and taking the left overs from my x-mas bonus to buy a 970.

I just recently moved to a 2560x1440 monitor and I think the 2GB is holding me back.

Would this be an upgrade or more of a side grade or worst a downgrade?

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Id do it just for the ram issue personally. You may be getting some random hitching and stuttering in some titles because you are 'paging out' the texture data to the slower system ram.

Slight downgrade in maximum total fps. Possibly noticeably smoother gameplay since you won't hit your max memory. Even with the slight downgrade the 970 is plenty for 1440p and I would choose it.
