q6600 price drop is soon, I thin you should get a 8800gts 320mb now than convert over to intel quad core on the 22ed.

Or go the route you seem to be going, which is still real good and prob save you a bundle/hassle.

i said yes, but if your on a budget the 8600gts can easily perform the same as a x1950pro with a small oc and still play dx10 despite what people who have never used one say or despite what benches reveal, we all know benches are just for bragging rights and dont equal real world gaming performance. i have no need to lie my last rig was a x2 3800+ with a x1950pro, no fanboi shit please, i like the bang for the buck and in midrange dx10 the 8600gts is king of the hill

Ya I heard about the quad drop soon, told my friend, hez gonna get a new computer then, and I thought it was a good time to upgrade, but I don't have all the money in the world, I pay for everything myself, and therefore, I have to be careful. In order to optimize the power of the Q6600, I need a good board, and that costs lots more, and I don't want to get it cause I already have an AMAZING board so I think I'm gonna go for the AMD and 8800gts, unless someone can convince me otherwise. This will cost $420 about with shipping, and unless the C2D upgrade, GFX and board can come under $500, then I'm going with this.

If your going to get a new video card....Get the best you can buy with a slower CPU. You will be happier with the results you get. Such as the HD2900XT 1Gb or the 8800GTX

I would get the 512 hd2900XT I've seen it do better in lots of benchmarks over the 8800GTS. Drivers are still fresh...just think about how long the 8800GTS has been out.
