Ups problem

Hi all.
This morning when i woke up. make a cup of coffee and start up my pc. Well nothing happened. I've got a ups hooked up. round about 10years old now. It's a 600va pcm ups. My theory is that the battery is as dead as a doornail. but will check tonight, open it up and see.

in any case, the UPS can be as dead or empty as it may be, and still should let you boot up

If it has a circuit breaker... check the circuit breaker.

Is it On-line type? Then it could not let you boot, but anyway there is a big chance that battery is dead, since you have it for 10 years. And if battery is dead, UPS should warn you with some sound or LED signal.

Well when I try to switch it on. there is normally a long beep when it turns on and then a click from the relay. But now no beep and when I hold in the button the led only turns on once.

Should but they don't always, i have one here and when the bettery was near dead no warning and now the battery dead completely it disabled all the battery operated plug sockets and still no warning..

When mines reset you just hear a click on then off again about 10 seconds later.. Try not using the none battery connections see if that works but really it's time for a new one.
