Three days ago I simply shutted down my tower (info below!) after a windows update, and set the power "off".
I came back today and when I re-powered up my machine a LOT of things happened.
1) My keyboard didn't recognized an attached usb key, I restarted then discovering the tower itself didn't do it when attacching it to free usb slots. No sound was emitted when attaching or deattaching usbs.
2) After the restart the keyboard was not powered enough, it didn't work, neither any of the USBs, and when trying to record audio with my microphone (that was attached and on, but not working like the keyboard) it gave me weird errors, like "ID not recognized"
3) Tried some different restarts and setups of cables and usb keys, everytime it said "ID not recognized", an error I've never seen in Windows 7 before. In the control panel, the "Audio" options showed that any hardware for rec was simply VANISHED and there was some unknown issue with the AMDA00 Interface.
4) After almost a hour the tower began to go "crazy" with "connected usb" sounds, as if it was actually remembering all my tests in the last restart, and things began to work again one after another, with some errors that were gone after a final restart. Still, in the "rec" tab of the Audio control panel everything disappeared, if not the external Blue Yeti mic I use.
...I do not understand, honestly. It is really an unique issue and it scares me for it's instability. I use this machine to work everyday and this is worrying me. Could it be because it was powered off (not only the OS, the tower itself had the alimentation switch turned off) for days? Or is it something that could have been the update's fault? I really can't decipher it.
