Just a random question I'm interested in knowing the answer too ... are custom water-cooling pumps noisy?

I'm interested because some day I want to go (properly) water-cooled, but I wont bother if the pump is going to whine or groan or resonate in any way. Essentially it's all about the noise for me. I want a well-cooled rig that's pretty much dead-quiet.
I have the H50 already, and it's pump is quieter than the fans in my case at the moment (they're a bit noisy to be honest). Are the more powerful custom jobbies quieter, or are some worse than others?

Thanks guys.

I had a off brand 600LPH pump and it was very quiet. I could never hear it over my RAD fans

In any of my rigs, my pumps are quieter than the fans on the rads, even in a dual pump setup.

I have used both the MCP335 and the D5 type pumps in these rigs.

Okay, cool. Do you guys have noisy/high-flow fans? I'd hopefully be heading down the low(ish) rpm fan route - hoping they'll be inaudible - I just want to avoid going to that trouble only to hear a pump chugging away.

Any brands to avoid?

Yeah the only time I really noticed the noise from my pump is before the loop is fully bled and air bubbles are shooting through it. In fact, I have booted up my machine before not realizing the 3 pin connector had come loose until I noticed very high idle temps. It was kinda cool though to plug it back in and see my temps drop 30C instantly :).
