In the near future im looking to go and water cool my system. Im looking to cool all of the items below.

Case: Apevia X Navigator

Video Card: BFG Tech GeForce 7950 GT OC PCI-E

Processor: LGA775 Intel C2D E6420

Is it also possible to water cool hard drives?

Any suggestions on kits or parts for my current setup?

I'm pretty sure you cal water cool hardrives, but I don't think all kinds. as for watercooling everything else, you should find something that suits your needs, like a light set up if you like lan parties. after that, read some reviews and check prices.

you can WC your cpu, memory, hard drives, and chipsets. though idk if its really necessary to wc your memory and hdd's, memory "blocks" come at 25-50 bucks a stick and hdd blocks come at like 50 i believe. most people dont even having air cooling on their memory and hdd's...

you should pick out custom parts rather then get a kit, it helps loads, cause you can get higher quality parts and pats that better suit your needs.

Actually, Hard Drives make more heat than you would think, they are the second hottest thing in the PC. The GPU being the hottest. The Motherboard Power Mosfetts are third, then the CPU w/stock cooling, chipset, Memory, then DVD/CD.

well usually the cpu gets the top rank when its oced lmao. my seagate barracuda 320 gb runs at 44C... though most people dont even have air cooling for their hdd's so wcing is like overdoing it lmao. as for the mosfets, loads of mobo's dont even have heatsinks on their mosfets, i dont think my mobo has em.

The CPU would be the hottest without the HS, and burn up. The other components have either NO HS or pasive cooling only.

As for the mosfetts, your right, and they get HOT!! But they still don't produce as much heat as the HDD's.

A recent study showed the if your HDD"S are installed sideways with a seperate air intake and seperat fan exhaust, the Case temp can be reuduced 8° to 13°. They are still working on the study but the reasearch looks promising so far.

Yes but you can buy a simple hard drive cooler like this one. Why WATER COOL your hard drive. Seriously... is he joking? A simple fan like this would do fine... :wtf:

I thin it would depend o your hd like my old gateway computers hd ran at 46 or 47c lol with my new computer hd's and case my hd temp is low like 28c.. Ihad modded my hd cage on my gateway too cause the drive was to hot acording to everast so I put a 120mm 7v fan on the front of my case inside the "wall", cooled the hd good down to like 32 or 34c.

HD is one of the last things you want to fail I think lol, keep it cool :) well I guess if your mobo dies you would have a bit of a hard toime gettign the data off your C:/drive anyway (I think)... cant just plug it into another mobo and go.

Regardless of the argument, and using the logic of another "TS" gang member;

"IF he want to watercool his HHD, then let him watercool his HDD."*

*out of context, but the logic still applies.:toast:
