I put a crappy PC together for my mate recently mostly using a bunch of old parts.
Athlon X2 6000
4Gb Geil (Value) RAM
MSI Platinum K9 mobo
HD 6670 1GB gfx card
Generic 400W PSU, with a big bunch of molex - modern port adapters.
A piece of crap, I know....but recently the computer has being switching itself off for a brief second and then coming back on with Windows and everything else still loaded. My first suspicion was that the graphics card is pissing up in some way but there are no driver errors and the HDMI cables are firmly in place in addition to the gfx card being the only new part.
I know that the PSU is not really up to scratch. Anyone with experience/knowledge able to say whether this is a power drain issue with the PSU or if not, indicate any other likely diagnosis.
THX.
