I'm already there.
Been trying to iron out the problems for you late comers for a year now.
Nvidia is finally catching up with hdmi 2.0.
Monitor and TV makers are finally making True UHD, 4k tvs/monitors.
Most were fake 4k.
30hz, or using subsampling.
All I know is that 4k on a 50" Samsung, looks amazing.
PS: No one cares about crysis anymore.
The game was badly optimized when it was made and it is not some great benchmark for 4k performance.

Isn't that a "120Hz" TV as well? My parents just ordered a 40" Samsung 4k TV for something like 600 USD the other day. Just waiting for it to come in. Their TV now is so old its only digital input is DVI.

Next year with Samsung doing 4k IPS displays with freesync I'll start to keeping an eye out for deals, but before then I need an nvidia gpu that supports freesync and can actually drive 4k. Probably will need to be at least 8 GB with that res and console ports being memory hogs now.

Likely won't happen. AMDs own Freesync FAQ says you need an AMD GPU.

I know nvidia is slow for updating their outputs but I don't think they'll ignore DP 1.3 forever.

Why would Nvidia support Freesync? That would castrate their own solution.
AMD FAQ also seems to talk about needing AMD Catalyst drivers for it to work. Freesync is more on the software end of things rather then hardware it seems. DP1.3 just brings support for adaptive-sync through the port. Freesync is AMDs answer too G-Sync.
So maybe you mean that Nvidia will add support to use the new DP1.3 adaptive-sync feature through their drivers?
