Why no older cards used in reviews?

Excellent! But now there is no GTX 980Ti/Fury X in it :p Sorry, I just had to ;)

This is why I like TPU so much. Even though I'm pain in the rear sometimes, the staff does listen to the community. And I value that a lot!

We didn't make any change. It has always been like that, a certain range up and down in relative performance is included in the individual game graphs, all cards included in the summaries. 390 falls into a certain band of performance, which includes 280X but excludes Fury X.

Ok, that makes sense though, the reason why I've posted this thread was because the first R9-390X (from MSI, the one I read) review didn't include them even though they still fall in the same group, but did include GTX 980Ti. The latest just released PowerColor review however does include even lower end models and excludes GTX 980Ti and Fury X entirely.

sure lets pull out the 486's a bench them against a x99 core i7
get real
if you wanna see how the old stuff stacks up get off your lazy bum and look up the old benchmarks
if you can't deduce what hardware is better then what regardless of what benchmarks where or where not run. then you are idiot anyway and thus your opinion means jackshit
one look at the paper specs will tell you strait away what card is faster then what regardless of era
That post is pretty much uncalled for. You could have gone a better route with that. People's opinions and overall questions about something that they do not know is called ignorance. If you know what it is and still refuse to acknowledge it then it's stupidity.

The first time you touched fire did you know it was going to burn? No. You were ignorant. The second time you did it you knew what would happen and did it anyway. That's stupidity.

Yeah I could have sworn it was said earlier in the thread that the 280x WAS in there. Has been in pretty much every TPU review I've seen since it launched.

I can't fault W1zz's benching methodology. Hell, I've even seen him make posts asking if people wanted new res options added. He's a W1zz of a W1zz if ever a W1zz there was.

"We're off to see the W1zzard".
