windows new oem activation sticker question?

hi
i have question about the new windows oem product activation case stickers if anyone has bought one. the new ones have scratch off cover on it to see the key. how careful should i be? i have bought those Microsoft gift card and xbox giftcard and i used dime to remove the scratch cover off and it didn't hurt the numbers & letters not one bit.

Hi,
You shouldn't ever need to use it on win-10 or 11
They'll activate after install and hitting the internet so if you ever clean install just use I don't have a activation key.

In every "factory built" computer I have seen, you do not need the number. That is only in case you need to totally re-install Windows well after purchase.

Is this a self or custom built computer? Is something asking you for the number?

i'm building my own pc and the pc store sell copys of windows 11 oem dvd and seening the new coa stickers pictures online wondering how careful i have to be removing the sliver scratch cover ?

I would not worry about being too rough. I suspect it would be similar to a scratch-off lottery ticket. If you have hard fingernails, that may work - otherwise, a coin. Just start out light and add force as needed.

Surely, they don't want it to be easily destroyed as that will mean a bunch of angry callers.

Only issue I see is you can't install win-11 with a dvd because 11 does not support mbr installs
Only gpt and uefi boot/... so that isn't going to happen with a dvd.
Flash drive yeah in uefi mode.
So yeah seems like a scam to me frankly.

You absolutely can install 11 from a dvd, the media creation tool even offers it as an option. You just can't boot the media from CSM mode and do a mbr style install. You have to do a uefi boot and part table install.

i think the tuf gaming b760m has uefi bios. i think there be settings where you select where boot option cd or harddrive etc. then when you reboot the pc it should go to the windows 11 setup.
