Winxp 32-BSOD stop codes.

Guys, does anyone know a site were i can get info on error codes as im having a bsod every 20 min while i play any game, i need to sort this out driving my nutz

You'll get alot of help here, but post more details for people. e.g. the error code, why do you think it's happening, have you overclocked, recently installed hardware/drivers? etc etc or just type the error code in google

Posted from the event viewer, My rig isnt oc'ed at all atm i re-set all oc's as soon as i started having the bsod's, It only happens when a 3d app is running IE eve-online assassins creed and The sims 2 of all games. I recently installed ATI cat 8.12 ive re-installed cat 8.11 following erockers guide to the letter.
Ive been up most of the night and im still no closer to a solution but it doesnt bsod during 3dmark 06 ?

Yeah i think it is but it also come up as a security log, which is confusing .
Im uninstalling and updating drivers to see if it helps, i run memtest most of last nite with no errors. would a faulty psu cause this ?

It definitely could. If your voltages are fluctuating, or just plain too low or too high, you'll end up with major instability. Since you say its happenening with 3d apps, it could be your graphics card is overloading your PSU (if your PSU is about to die, it may no longer be able to put out its rated voltage, current, or stay in regulation) and causing instability; although that wouldn't explain why you don't BSOD on 3dMark.

If you have access to another PSU to test with, I'd say its worth a shot.

I don't know if its the exact error you're getting, but if it is; could signify damaged HDD or broken windows?

Well i think the broken windows theory is more like it, ive stripped the whole pc down and cleaned it, uninstalled old crap and cleaned the registry ( 600+ errors ), de-fragged, re-installed updated drivers where needed and stressed it for a few hours using F@H and orthos running side by side with no bsod or crashes. Ill test it with Assassins creed in a bit and ive got world in conflict off a m8 to have a bash of so a bit of luck and it'll be ok but time will tell.

Ill update with any probs, but in the mean time if anyone has any ideas/suggestions please post em

I have a similar (athlon) system, and all I can tell you is pause folding if you want to game. If I get a big job, I can't even run my tv tuner card without it locking up. So if that's it, just pause your folding till you're done!

Well i played assassins creed last nite and then she was running orthos all night with no bsod's, so i think it was broken windows, thanks for your help guys i appreciate it

I normally go eventid.net end up at a MS site some times but they did not help all that much by saying there was some thing wrong but knew no better them self like the 0x0000124 error.
