wired sound coming from my E6600

Hey guys I have a problem

I oc'ed my E6600 using 380X9=3420mhz, I set dram to 475mhz(DDR2 950 at 2.2v) and left all the voltage setting on auto. On auto the vcore was 1.5 and vNB was 1.5 the cpu idle=43*C and load=58*C.

I tried 400fsb the CPU starts makin a very high pitch noise and wont allow me to going into WINDOWS so I turn off my pc and restart again use 390fsb the same thing happend but I can go into WINDOWS this time. I tried 380fsb there were not high pitch noise.

What could cause this problem. I have picture for you to see.

humm odd..

i sometimes get a high pitched sound out of my pc when manipulating some kinds of things in windows like the slider on itunes ive gotten it on most of the pcs ive had and im still baffles lol i think it comes from the gfx card tho lol well nyway .02$

Is this bad for the mobo and cpu?
I only oc'ed my E6600 to 3420mhz and its starting to make that sound just think of those people who oc'ed their's over 4ghz !!!!!

nuh I dont think its hot(75% fan speed) idle is 41~46*C and load is 56~58*C (just abit too high recommanded 55*C max) but the room temperature was hot hot 32*C

Could just be an electrical noise too. I mean, if you water cool it, you could probably push it more. Try upping your voltage a smidge. It may help you out.

Many things can case that niose, Cavemnans noise was the High clock on his CPU.

The caps on your mobo can also make this niose during O-clocking.
The caps or gpu on sound card can slso make a similar noise, when overclocking.
Just about any cap or processor can make this noise, even sound cards.

Basicaly the noise is caused by caps or other components discharging before they are fully charged , thus a squeel, wine, or buzz. It is a normal indicator of CLOCKS set to high, and heat build up, or a component about to fail.

I had it on auto for a while, which set it to 1.45V :eek:

So i turned it down to 1.35 and it was fine

capacitors can cause that yeah. but i have my doubts about a processor generating the actual noise its self (the oc is causing something that is causing a cap to make that noise prolly) im sure there are other components that are capible of making the noise especially components that create electromagnetic effects like transformers

i doubt the noise is anything to worry about though
