X800XL AIW cooler?

I just put on a Zalman 700. I like how mine came with tiny ramsinks (IDK if thats the norm) for the memory.

The ATI 5 rev. 2 scilencer is another option but I didn't like how it cools the memory, although most of the heat is exhausted out of the case unlike the Zalman.

So really I think either is a good choice.

i just put my zalman 700 on my aiw x800xl at the default 400/490 without the cooler it was idle 44c and 79c load now with it OCed to 511/511 its idle at 40c and 63c load so i like how mine works...i will be getting the zalman 900 though in the next week...and if your case has good air flow u dont have to worry about case temps

^Don't get VF900-Cu because it doesn't beat the VF700-Cu by that much, and also, the VF700-Cu beats it depending on ambient temps and such.

I have a VF700-Cu on my Radeon X800XL (not AIW) and it's overclocked to 439/538 and EMT and I get about 33-35 idle and 49-52 load.

what did u use for thermal paste? I just put mine on today and im wondering if i should expect lower temps as it settles in. i am using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835126003 and i just picke dup this card the other day and sooo much better then my x700

I use Arctic Silver 5. Works great. Just don't get it in any transistors/resistors on the card.

BTW, my cards temps vary A LOT!! If I put my comp in my room at normal temp. I get 40 idle and 62 load. If A/C is on, 36 idle and 55 load. If I put my card in the guest room (which is where I am right now) I get the temps I listed earlier, 33-35 idle and 49-52 load.

oh...I tought that zalman would cool better.. With my (now dead) X800XT PE at stock speed (520/560) I was getting 31-32 idle and 43-45 load with an Ati Silencer 5 rev 2...but it doesen't fit on a X800 AIW
