Hi, Ive bought these 2 rx 470s for cheap because they wouldnt display a video. Ive looked online and found out its probably due to them being mining cards. I was wondering if anyone here knows anything i could try or where to check for shorts/volatges on the board itself etc. Ive already tried a bunch of stuff like flashing a different bios, but that hasnt really done anything, or using old amd drivers. (Original bios that was on the cards has lowered core and memory clocks).

Theyre XFX RX470 8gb versions, one with Samsung and the other with hynix memory chips.
The label on the back says RX470P85 VC.0 and SN: S9Y050198
Ive attached pictures of the card and the original bios. If anyone knows anything Id really appriciate the help.

Do you have an integrated GPU? If you just happen to have one, I'd suggest to use it as an Display output. Then flash the original XFX BIOS on it with the help of AMDVBFlash

Tried that already, also there arent any verified 8gb bioses, atleast on techpowerup. I managed to find only 4gb ones of the xfx one. (Ive tried around 15 unverified one and none worked. But i did so with the newest amd drivers which is bad apparently so i might needa try again)

Hello.
Since you can't boot in windows with them, please be so kind and boot with IGFx.
Then start GPU-z, choose XFX card and post here some pictures that we need in order to narrow the search:
- GPU-z - main screen
- GPU-z > advanced tab > from drop down menu choose advanced timings
- Labels from both cards

@Imperator Hi, im home again, heres the things you wanted. For now this is just for the one card.
I havent taken pics from the second card for now but it was a bit wonky, on the board itself theres hynix chips, but gpu z reported them as micron ones.
Ill take pics of the second one soon.

Hello again.
I asked you to put 2 pictures for each card (let's say labels are not present - so you will put only GPU z)
I need main screen plus the one with advanced timings for each card.
Thanks

Hey, sorry for messing it up, not sure why only one picture attached.
Hope its correct now.
The second card for whatever reason says it has micron memory chips, even tho on the board itself theres hynix chips, ALSO i had to uninstal amd drivers cuz my pc wouldnt post with them and this card.

Well the fans just stop spinning. Idk if thats really considered turning off but yeah. IF theres no video cables plugged in it doesnt happen, the fans spin like normal.

Can you make a screenshot of GPU-Z?
Note: GPU-Z has a screenshot button. See image below.

Did you flash the bios? If yes, please make a new screenshot of GPU-Z
Ive flashed over 15 different bioses (only on the samsung card) with virtualy not change in gpuZ.
Rn im pretty sure both cards just have the original bios flashed.

Nvm im stupid, I read that wrong, ill try flashing that bios from the thread now.

Ive flased the bios and turns out its the same bios as the one that was flashed on the cards originaly. Only thing that changed is that now both cards display the wrong vram (micron).

Can you remove the cooler since the bios dump of mihai333 only contains Hynix and Samsung support.

One small tip: Making a photo with phone of GPU-Z isnt a decent screenshot. Please use the screenshot function of GPU-Z itself in the future. I've explained it before how you can do it.

One of the cards has hynix chips and the other samsung ones (no clue why it displays micron on both, it didnt do that with other bioses), also sorry for the phone pics, its not my main pc.

Can you run "amdvbflash.exe -biosfileinfo <<yourbiosfilename.rom>>" and share the output with us?

Try to use AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher. If the bios hasn't the correct signature, the drivers will not load and cause an error 43.

If the drivers do load after the AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher then we know we need to find another bios. If you keep error 43, it is a hardware failure.

I ran the the thing and nothing changed. Do you have some board view on where i should check for shorts etc?

If you keep error 43 a normal person is unable to fix the card.

You can try a lower clocked bios as last resort:
