I don't mind DLC, as long as they were made after the game was released, not before.

They should have just included the extras into the game if they were made before the game was released.

I would only buy DLC if it was actually worth it, like the one's that in Fallout 3, Borderlands, Dragon Age, Just Cause 2, etc. They're all easily worth the $1 to $10 since they add more content to the game. Steam discounts help with this all the better.

However if it was already included (as in, on disc or on the same download as the main game), but had to be unlocked by pay, then that's retarded. Burnout Paradise is a prime example of this. That means that the DLC was already included in the prime download, but they expect you to pay extra when it's already in the main install.

I dont really like the current trend of DLC...If these were expansions which would be more then a zone or a few quest chains, then sure, the price would be right... but not the current model.

I agree, I just can't see paying $10 for an hours worth of content if I'm lucky.

Whats even more annoying is games like Bioshock 2 with the DLC that they later plan on selling people comes shipped on the retail disc at launch. Big exclamation marks in DA selling me DLC was pretty bad too.

GOTY edition for me (like what Bethesda did with Fallout 3) but only if I really, really, really like the game (or it's cheap enough).

If the devs want to go on to make a few more levels after the game is completed and sell them for a few bucks, that's cool. If players are willing to pay for new multiplayer maps and you wanna sell 'em, cool. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. DLC on the 360 that unlocks stuff already on the disc(Namco-Bandai loves this), launch day DLC, etc.

I'm not sure which game it was, but one 360 RPG had a booster pack you could buy that was literally a pack of heal items you could obtain normally. Some games have level-up packs in case you don't want to, you know, play the game. And don't even get me started on those stupid avatar packs.

Things are a little more sane on the PC side, but that's only because there isn't an Xbox Live Marketplace to speak of on the PC and I doubt Valve would go for crap like that.

DLC is a good idea. But publishers are abusing it and they're going to run it into the ground.
