Spire Announces the Swirl IV CPU Cooler

Spire rolled out the 4th generation of its Swirl series of CPU coolers. The Swirl IV features a unique aluminium fin-stack heatsink design, in which swirl-shaped aluminium fins are arranged perpendicular to the plane of the motherboard. A lateral-flow fan, akin to the ones found in reference-design graphics cards, pushes air drawn from the central cutout, in all directions, through the fin-stack that surrounds it.

Heat drawn from the CPU is conveyed to this stack by three 8 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes. The cooler supports CPUs with TDPs of up to 130W, it supports all modern CPU socket types, including LGA2011 series, LGA115x series, AM3+, and FM2+. Measuring 131 mm x 125 mm x 62 mm (WxDxH), the cooler weighs 690 g. The fan inside spins between 600 and 2,000 RPM, pushing up to 83.12 CFM of air, with a noise output of up to 26 dBA. Backed by a 5-year warranty, the Swirl IV is priced at US $65.
