DeepCool Cooling Products at CES 2024: Assassin 4S Cooler, FT Slim Fans, Mystique AIOs
DeepCool brought a handful innovative new cooling and case products to the 2024 International CES, and we begin our coverage with their new cooling gear. On a side note, we'd like to compliment them for only getting their new and unannounced stuff. The new Mystique and Mystique Plus AIOs retain much of the understated, minimalist, and geometric styling that DeepCool has been up to since it retired the GamerStorm brand, bringing things under its main marquee. There are actually two new AIO cooler series—Mystique and Mystique Plus. The Mystique series includes 240 mm and 360 mm radiator sizes; while the Mystique Plus is exclusively a 420 mm (for now). What also sets the two apart is the larger pump-block and display on the Mystique Plus.
The Mystique 240 and Mystique 360 come with a somewhat cubical pump-block featuring a 2.8-inch IPS LCD display with 480 x 640 pixels resolution. This can be made to display anything, or real-time monitoring. The AIO uses DeepCool's 4th Gen in-house pump design. The coolers use the company's FT12 SE fans with fluid dynamic bearings. The Mystique Plus 420 is a beast, with a larger pump-block that has a 3.4-inch 480 x 480 pixels display (which is actually of a lower res than the Mystique). The block underneath is larger, as the cooler is recommended for high-Wattage overclocked processors. As its name suggests, the cooler features a 140 mm x 420 mm radiator, with a trio of FT14 FDB fans keeping things cool.Next up, is the Assassin 4S air CPU cooler, which comes in all-black and all-white (4S WH) variants. DeepCool probably doesn't want to call this the "Assassin 4 Slim," because this is plenty thick, although slimmer than the Assassin 4. The key difference between the two is that while the Assassin 4 uses two fans in push-pull configuration like a typical D-type cooler; the Assassin 4S only uses one, which is sandwiched between the two fin-stacks, and acts like a high powered conveyor fan. The resulting lack of the first "push" fan is where the slimness comes from. The cooler features a 7-heatpipe setup that pulls heat from the base, with their ends passing through two fin-stacks. The sole fan at the center is an 140 mm FDB unit, with an easy performance/quiet physical toggle.Wrapping things up with the new fans DeepCool is bringing to CES; we have the FT9 Slim (90 mm) and FT12 Slim (120 mm). These feature a minimalist, all-black design, the bore of the frames are as slim as they can be, to maximize the size of the impellers. The fans themselves are "slim," although we're waiting to confirm if they are 15 mm-thick. The only showpiece here is a clear acrylic window that lets you look at the 3-phase, 6-pole motor, and fluid-dynamic bearing. There's a soft-glow LED inside to light up the chamber. The FT9 Slim has a maximum airflow of 31.18 CFM, with 4.8 mm H₂O static pressure, and under 31 dBA of noise. The FT12 Slim does 58.9 CFM of maximum airflow, at 2.42 mm H₂O static pressure, and under 32.2 dBA noise. Deepcool is backing them with 3-year warranties.
The FT12 and FT14 are high-performance, standard 25 mm-thickness fans. Much like the FT Slim series, these feature an all-black design, with the impeller window that lets you look at the motor. This 3-phase DC motor features an impressive 10 poles. You can also spy the fluid dynamic bearing along the main shaft, which is illuminated in a cool white color and looks classy. DeepCool rates the bearing at 80,000 hours, and is backing them with 5-year warranties. The FT12 pushes an impressive 79 CFM of max airflow at 4.2 mm H₂O static pressure, and under 30 dBA maximum noise. The FT14 has the same airflow but maximum noise of 24.9 dBA noise output, and a better 3.6 mm H₂O pressure.
