EK at CES 2024: Quantum-X NoCase, Velocity² 1700 Special Edition Waterblock, and Other Water Cooling Components

CES
The TechPowerUp team visited the EK water blocks booth at the CES 2024 international show. We previously covered the company's latest direct-die all-in-one (AIO) water cooler, but many more products were on display. First in line is EK's Quantum-X NoCase chassis, which contradicts traditional PC enclosures with its open, no outer shell design. This radical departure from convention results in a nearly invisible frame crafted from aluminium for a featherlight weight of approximately 3 pounds. Its design is meticulously engineered to be as airy and lightweight as possible without compromising the support needed for essential hardware and liquid cooling components. The case integrates the advanced Reflection² distro plate, equipped with dual D5 pumps to facilitate separate cooling loops for both the CPU and GPU, ensuring optimal thermal management in a minimalist aesthetic.
Next up are EK-Quantum Velocity² Edge D-RGB - 1700 Black and silver Special Edition CPU water blocks. Unlike traditional water block aesthetics, the design features a CNC-milled aluminium top covered with irregular tetrahedrons that create captivating light effects and shadows. The cold plate utilizes EK's patented OptiFlow cooling engine to optimize thermal performance on Intel LGA 1700 sockets. EK has also introduced its ExactMount mounting system for easy installation. Available in black or bright silver finishes, these Special Edition water blocks come with an MSRP of 199.90€ for both variants.
EK water blocks is also updating in the area of other components with the third-generation EK-Quantum Kinetic FLT pump-reservoir combos. Available in different sizes for flexibility, EKWB optimized the number and positioning of G1/4" ports to make the FLTs adaptable for more cooling setups. The pumps have also been relocated to the front of the units. An additional new offering combines a surface radiator and compact FLT into one product, integrating reservoir, pump, and radiator with the necessary connections to supply one or more water blocks. Using six G1/4" ports, this combo unit can be oriented flexibly, although there is a preferred alignment for pump performance. The initial 360 mm variant has a 120 mm reservoir/pump section, leaving 240 mm for the radiator surface.
EK is also set to expand the color palette of their EK-Quantum Torque fittings. Beyond the existing black, silver, and gold options, they plan to introduce satin gold, bronze and rose gold. However, these new finishes will be out of stock. Instead, EKWB will produce them based on customer orders, ensuring each piece is freshly made and tailored to the buyer's specifications. This move adds a touch of personalization and exclusivity to their product line, allowing users to customize their PC further. Additionally, the company has updated the EK-Loop Fan FPT 120 D-RGB 120 mm fans with more customization options, which include a wide range of noise dampers going into fan corners and more RGB customization.
