In vista 64 and Xp 64 it's a lagging dog and freezes constantly. There are threads all over about it. For me ebay takes a week to load. It is only on certain websites and in others like this one it's fine.

Maybe it's ebay failing then?

I haven't had any real issues with it, except whenever it starts up it complains that updates could not be installed or some crap.
It's done this on a previous system of mine, and when it did FF wouldn't even start, so I'd say they've improved it, lol

Been there today looking for an E6500K. There were no issues, at all.

I am running Vista Business 64-bit on my XPS M1530 lappie right now.

I've had a few problems. In fact I've had to load Opera in order for some sites to work properly. For example in facebook, I can't see my inbox at all.

It does seem like they dropped the ball with this release. But I'm always reluctant to blame the software because I usually have all kinds of weird shit running on my machines plus I tend to be a little trigger happy with the reset switch.

I haven't had any issues with mine either, and I hit eBay no probs. I bet it's not FF, I bet it's an extension or plug-in doing it.

Disable your extensions and try again.

the firefox website says there a few issue with SSL sites. Only if you been to them before, then go back pictures wouldn't load like they should. But other than I don't see anything big

Yeah certain things are pretty choppy.

Get alot of " firefox not responding" ( although it recovers) when using sites like ebuyer, techpowerup did it yesterday aswell.

Happens when I use firefox for extended periods of time.

Yeah 3.5 is junk. I have it installed on my netbook and it SUCKS! On my home rig I still have 3.0 installed and happy about it too.

3.53 broke password saving for me. I now have to push ok instead of being automatically logged into TPU and other sites.

I have it on windows 7 and, either it keeps ending itself, or I just have to start it 4 times before it finally shows up.

I am using 3.5.3 on the pc in my specs list, and the only problem I have had with firefox is the memory usage. I remember browsing one time on only one tab, my pc was at 40% mem usage. I closed firefox, I went back down to 23% usage:eek: And that is with 6gb ram.

Some web pages are managing to hit 100% cpu usage for one core for no apparant reason - i have flashblock enabled for the sites giving the problems and even if i disable scripting it maxes out the core until i close the tab (0kb/s upstream or downstream as well, so i dont know why it is doing it). Ebay works fine for me btw - been using it the past few days and havn't had a single issue.

Since 3.5.0 came out i have never been able to get the help>check for updates option to work - it is always greyed out so i have to manually download and replace my current install with the latest patched install. Again no idea why it does that.

It is a little buggier than 3 was for me, but not to the point where i am considering getting rid of it, as the benefits of FF+addons far outweigh the issues i am finding.

I'm happy to hear someone else has that cpu usage problem. I thought it was just me. I love the occasional reality check. :D

FF also seems to freeze around 500mb of memory usage. Well, at least when it's frozen, usage has been around 480mb or so. Just another observation to toss on the fire.

I wouldn't ditch FF unless it started causing problems for a big percentage of the sites I visit. The plug-ins are too valuable to ignore. If I have to keep Opera open at the same time, that's fine. Hopefully they'll get these issues resolved soon. I have to say though that I kinda like Opera.

I really only go to 3 websites on a daily basis... techpowerup, stanford's F@H stats page for our team and quakeone.com. Quakeone generally always works, but TPU and the F@H stats page can be slow, but there's always a shitton of users on tpu and the stats page so I thought nothing of it.

i had those random firefox freezes too, i ran CCleaner and they went away.

i have no idea what caused it, but i havent had it since using Ccleaner so i dont really care :p

the "updates could not be installed" problem is due to kaspersky, pause kaspersky and restart firefox, and the update will apply.

has anyone tried the optimization tweaks in this version?

they seem to work great for me.

i havent had any problems at all and the memory leaks are minute compared to previous versions of FF.
