Going back to Air cooling

Nothing like the tuniq tower I had one just before water cooling best thing about that one even if the fan goes out no matter what you are safe and this is not so with water cooling . this is a good choice as the tuniq is really close if not better then a water cooler .
Any thing above that would be the coolermaster V8 or V12 .

I had a V8 and was not at all impressed for how much I spent on it. I think I'm going for the Titan but tomorrow is another day. Thanks for the info.

The only thing I could think of is the core contact build of the heatsink.

do you guys think it is just to great of a risk to water cool? I use a zalman cp9700nt and it does a good job but was looking into this Thermaltake ProWater 850i CL-W0175 , but these horror stories that I read and with my bad luck spells D.I.S.A.S.T.E.R

If you decide to go water, don't go with a garbage system like that Thermalcrap pisswater. Good air will perform better than this.

Water is very safe for the most part, especially if you test for leaks outside your case. Problem is, IF you have a mishap, consequences can be severe. I will say that I've set up 5-6 loops over the last couple of years, and I've never had a leak inside a case.

that zalman you have is ok but you could def do better! myself personally i prefer a heatsink that can be in a push/pull setup meaning it has two 120mm fans on both sides pushing the air in and pulling it out

ah to late I just bought the trueblack, but Iam sure it will be good too, now I have my zalman up for grabs, cant wait to see what my temps are with it when it arrives, hopefully its better than the zalman lol looks like I will need to get some fans cause i dont thik it comes with any?

The unit cracked and leaked til no tomorrow.

I even headed people to avoid the unit later on, as it would be an almost gaurentee'd leak.

boxgods made a pom revsion on this product and also offered free RMA's to owners.

You should contact primochill and give it ONE last try.
Since its more product fault then anything this time.

Yeah I saw one once, kinda strange to sell such a good cooler in such state. Don't know about the black though. If not dragon, be prepared to buy some sanding paper!

I sent them a message last night which will probably take a week to get a reply back. I went almost 2 months without my system last time which wasn't that long ago since I went down in early Dec, received my replacement res in late jan, installed almost 2 weeks ago, and now down again. I'm honestly getting tired of working on my system more than "playing" on it.

Plus MLB2k10 comes out tomorrow so no playing that unless I buy it for the Xbox360(not gonna happen).

It may be fixed now but that use to be the hot topic in the PC cooling world.

Luckily I noticed the leak when I was topping it off with some water so nothing was on. I played around all weekend with it and found the leak occured from a crack by one of the screws holes used to attach the pump to the res.

Yep, that's where they all leak. I was going to get a Typhoon res until I dug deep and found several cases where people discovered leaks by mounting holes. I think it was a large batch of factory defects that went out. So I got a Bitspower bay res instead. Sorry to here about your wc'ing issues ken, air is getting a lot better nowadays when it comes to oc'ing.
