yeah its up to buyers to check the heatware, not the mods.

if it gets reported as a fake/incorrect heatware, then we take action.

If we start checking for links to heatware and verifying them, soon it will extend into people wanting us to lock threads for people with bad heatware and so on.

How about for moderation? do you guys honestly check if the heatware exists if it isn't a link?

I thought it was a rule that's all, it says a LINK in the OP, not 'state your heatware', perhaps it needs clarification?

No, we don't check out everyone's thread in detail and or their references. If you have a problem with any particular threads not meeting the rules please report it. As another mod stated we are not babysitters, nor are we police detectives. It's up to you.

Thank you.

hey guys, I got a question

I know per Paypal rules, you are not supposed to ask for the fee.
like $350 +3% fee

but like in court of the law, its how you word it right?

is it okay to say, buyer pays the fee?
for example: $350 net to me, buyer pays fee.

by saying buyer pays fee, the buyer has the option to pay via non-fee method, or pay with credit card, which charges a fee

I don't see a problem with it as long as it is known to the buyer. Even then it's not my concern.

If you're trying to hint to the buyer to pay via a personal payment, that's, again, not allowed as per this forum's and PayPal's rules.

just raise your price by $5

if the buyer has an option to pay the fee, then sure i'd say let them. just dont try and gift the money.

this really is not that difficult. try not to overthink it and just let it be. declare a price for your stuff and take into account the costs of doing the transaction. pretty simple stuff. please be quiet.

Couple of notes I'd like to discuss:

1st: Purchase of a used hard drive that may or may not have material on it. Example:

I have a 320GB WD that I can sell for $75 INCLUDING THE CONTENTS OF THE DRIVE. If you would like the drive formatted: $40. Drive contents can be discussed via PM.

2nd)

I have multiple copies of Cryotasis that came with the purchase of my new video cards. Since I have multiple copies, I'd like to trade one digital download for a copy of Dirt 2.
Perhaps if I could help a certain someone(see Cheap Computer thread) I could offer it up to give away.

Scenario 1 has a physical item but with different prices due to digital contents. Is this sale legal under the terms of agreement on TPU? Minding it's not child porn, government papers, or other explicitly illegal items.

Scenario 2 does not have a physical item, but is requesting a trade for an identical item(digital download). Also, can it be given away under the TOS @ TPU?

Also, I remember Fitseries3 doing a contest a long time ago for a G15 keyboard. Can raffle's exist without TPU's discretion? Is there a "legal" way of holding a semi-private raffle for any such items(digital or physical)?

And finally I'd like to point out that PayPal payments can be made without a PP verified account. PayPal honors Green Dot MoneyPak cards that can be provided as payment. They do cost $5 and are limited to $250 but as an alternate payment method to Money Order/Personal Check a person can go to Wal Mart and buy a MoneyPak card for $5 and the amount of the payment and give the person the code on the receipt as payment for items.

as far as TPU should be concerned, all drives must be empty, no software.

the no virtual items rule should apply to files on a drive.

That said, should files accidentally be left on after asked via PM, we know nothing about it and cant control it.

Hello. I want to make a WTB thread but I get the 14 days message. I have been member from 24 feb 2010 and have never been banned, so what I am lacking? Is there some secret minimal post count that is not mentioned in “Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!! The Rules of this Forum (Updated 4/26/2010)”?
Sorry if this is not the right place to ask.

Thank you for your quick reply. I shall look my new 4870x2 elsewhere then. I don’t want to post crap to get my post count up. Also I am not in my best in English, so I am more reader here.
