I think of this game as something you have when, i don't know you are bored of all the others great games you can play like pCARS, Rfactor, RACE07, GT5, Forza,...(insert game name here)... etc. This is more aimed at casual public, teens, etc.

So far there are 5 tracks and and like 50 cars.

i forgot, the is no onboard camera, that alone is a huge let down.

^ This guy knows whats up. I bolded the ones I played the most, I hear Rfactor2 has a great community background.

I'm a big racing fan only reason why I have a XBOX 360 is just for Forza series. I have been thinking about trying out pCARS, but I don't own a wheel and live in the USA would I be able to still get it when it comes out?

Personally I only play/like/compete @ NFS Shift Series with Logitech G27.
I recently play Project C.a.r.s and the game really looks and drive´s very nice, it´s a good investment at the moment [still @ alpha].

But my favorite it´s SHIFT 1, due to all the mods available on the web [NoGripRacing] ;)

You can play with almost every super/iconic car ever made:
Ferrari´s, FIA GT1 and GT3, 24 Le Mans Series [current and old models], Prototype Le mans etc...

Here is how I rank them. Based off of performance not price. the G27 and CSR wheel are both very good and almost same price.
#1 Fanatec CSR Elite
#2 Fanatec CSR
#3 Logitech G27
#4 Logitech G25

And Fanatec Clubsport wheel will take over #1 once it comes out, but that will cost over $700+ for just wheel.

Though, while Hot Pursuit is not realistic, it does require a lot of practice and handling control which makes it nearly as difficult as hardcore simulations. Driving it is one thing, mastering it is another.
When you manage to take on racers with the fastest cars using the crappiest one (specs wise), then you're close to that. I have no clue how it drives with a steering wheel. I imagine you'll have to shuffle it a lot since it requires you to use left/right steering a lot while in a slide or a drift to make one massive continuous slide witout touching any walls or losing the drift control.
The game is great fun but you'll just have to try it with a steering wheel. I imagine steering wheel would work better in NFS The Run where rear wheel cars get very twitchy on tight corners for a keyboard control. Wheel should in tehory provide more feedback for better control.

Ya no kidding, I miss NFSU series, MW, Carbon Myself- customization of car parts I Liked. Project Torque way before a major system update had the ability to tweak turning radius and responsiveness by numbers, In that I was dangerous Competition for higher spec runners using a lower spec car in races and drift, used a MR2 SW20

I have been thinking about trying out pCARS, but I don't own a wheel and live in the USA would I be able to still get it when it comes out?

You don't need a wheel, i use me DFGT and the 360 pad and they are both great, only problems is that as the game is not finished you have to manually conifg same options. I recommend this: Steering Deadzone = 1 to 6, Steering Sensitivity = 15, Speed Sensitivity = 100, then you go to free practice and while on the track you press F1 and the developer windows appear, there you go to DEADZONE/SESITIVITY > CIRCULAR DEADZONE (disable this).

It doesn't matter where you live, lets say you paid for the 45euros membership which entitles you to a free copy of the game at release, then when the game goes gold a coupon is given to you that you can activate in Steam or a Retailer. And quarterly your shares of the profits are transferred to your PayPal account.

See a few rally games here. Any that you prefer the most? I really like dirt 3, but an open to others. gonna download the demo of xpand rally. Any others i should try out?

hmm well, for me my best/favourite two would be DiRT 1 and CMR 2005. Happy to help :)

I use a G25, although I still like my ancient Thrustmaster 550 Marranello more when it works haha. Looking at getting a discontinued Fanatec GT3 or GT2.

Only good NASCAR game right now is in iRacing i think. in pCARS there is an early 90s NASCAR car but it's very WIP right now.

Problem with iRacing is the amount of money you have to put into the game.

KingPing is right! iRacing is great, but damn! Ya can throw several hundreds of bucks at that game each year and never get up in ranks to the top. Hell many of the true NASCAR drivers run on there. Dale Jr, Ryan Newman, Kurt Bush, and many others race on iRacing.

rFactor has many mods that add NASCAR racing to the game. I just purchased rFactor the other day but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Planning on that this evening though.:p

G27 is a great wheel for either arcade or sim....and has very strong FFB if you choose to crank it up, it will literally put your arms under pressure after awhile.

One of the best sims is RACE07/GTR Evolution, as it has tons of cars and tracks, quality MP{but not as busy as it once was}, great replay system, and other useful ingame devices to help you.
Also, if you're new to sims, put the driving aids on or read about how to drive a race car, there's a learnable technique that ensures you can go fast, and keep it on the track, eitherway, with the driving aids, it's quite easy, and you can turn them off as you get better.

Games like Shift and F1 2011 always have one problem or another, whereas the PC sims are precise and reward you for having a wheel with good FFB.

rf2 isn't quite there yet, but it's still a WIP.
