I think the money will start to slow down once the dogfighting Alpha hits, and to be honest they only have so many ships, the big thing is the customization within the game that isnt available yet.

However, if the extended Alpha truly opens up more locations with a large populace then I dont see why they couldn't hit 40-50 million pre-release

The point of 'pouring' money into this game is not just to play it. It's contributing to it's development. There's a reason it's the most(?) successful Kickstarter campaign ever.

Hell and I've not even bought into it yet but i can see it's worth.

Technically speaking, that award probably falls to the Pebble, who sold so many (over $10 million), they (wisely) closed it early, in order to make an attempt to keep it under control (not quite successfully). However, I would guess that the after-party funding from the website makes it above and beyond the most successful, if you can count that

X Rebirth is out in a day and a half! It should be a great game to pass the time until SC is released! It looks amazing, can't wait to play it.

Also, in Star Citizen news... It looks like there are going to be a bunch of sales on the 26th. All ships (except the Idris and Scythe) will be going on sale. Save your monies!! I don't plan on spending any more, if something goes on sale that I must have, I'll be melting some of my current ships.

Just ship pr0n for now... but it's getting closer! They're still saying end of December no matter what for the Dogfighting module. You have 13 days to get a ship with the lifetime insurance. Though, I'll probably have an extra ship or two in my hangar if you can't make the deadline.

If you're an original backer, or veteran backer (not sure where the cutoff was), anything you buy between now and the... 26th, I think, automatically gets LTI. If you're not one of those, you'll have to game the system by paying one of the original backers to buy it for you, and gift it. :toast:

I've literally been waiting months for this to come out to play. I loved the X, X2, and X3 but never had the time to learn to play them completely. Freelancer was much easier to pick up and put down when times were busy. Sounds like this new game will be closer to freelancer but with a little more meat on it.

Yeah, I'm "just" a backer. Don't think my 300i has LTI on it, just the standard 4 month.
