Awesome, first start up of the game and it crashes on boot up with a thread error. Great work Rock Steady.......Good thing I didnt pay for the game. Buddy of mine needed a new workstation so I buld one for him with a 970 for his CAD stuff, and he let me take the games.

Don't people get bored of these types of games after awhile? Walk here, punch this guy, cut scene. Fly here, punch this guy, cut scene. Drive here, throw a boomerang at this guy, cut scene...

You can pretty much say that about any game.

I was so pumped for this game, but no way I'm going to bite until they fix this crap.

Seems like a LOT of Nvidia endorsed games are very poorly optimized anymore, but if they farmed out the port to a cheap 3rd party team, it's all on Rocksteady as far as I'm concerned.

I would say its more on WB Games. They have ultimate control. They are the one who makes the deadlines, they are the publisher.

"Iron Galaxy has a history of making bad ports, not just on PC but everywhere. They made the terrible port of Borderlands 2 on Vita, they were responsible for the sub-60fps, poor performing Borderlands ports on XBO and PS4, and they were even bad at porting a simple arcade title to mobile platforms. And, of course, there's Arkham Origins on PC."

And the fault is on WB as they chose the studio for porting.
On the other hand, I'm amazed how no one at Rocksteady, WB or Iron G tested this crap of a port before release.

I wonder when Killer Instinct gets its PC release if Iron Galaxy will drop the ball as it seems they do.

I would say its more on WB Games. They have ultimate control. They are the one who makes the deadlines, they are the publisher.

Normally I would agree, but when you look at their last project, 99% of Origins involved WB Games' team being tutored by Rocksteady. WB aren't just publishers, they're fledgling developers, and I'm not convinced they're well versed enough yet on Batman development, esp this new, larger world one with the Batmobile, to be calling the shots on how long porting should take. It's as if Rocksteady talked them into being reassured 2 months was enough.

Hell, even last time, Rocksteady was trying to reassure skeptical fans that WB were plenty capable of pulling off Origins, and look how unpolished that came out. I don't think the blanket "publisher's fault" scenario necessarily applies here.

Anyway, now that the shit has hit the fan, we can only hope they've all learned by it. Just too bad it happened on the final installment of the trilogy before they saw their mistake. This has left a bad taste in my mouth for Batman in general though.

I'm actually looking forward more to Mad Max now than this game.

Just noticed this, WB have pulled the game from Steam to suspend sales to try and stay in line with their quality standards. Where were their quality standards when testing was done?

"Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC owners,

We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards."

Found it funny that the controller options have a picture of a Dual Shock 4 as the controller in this game.

Yah so wheres that patch they promised?

EDIT: OMFG look, they sped up this demo because they couldn't get it to run consistently at 60fps, listen to the voices and watch the motion.

Why is nearly everytime they try something like gameworks it always runs like shit, can't they do that sort of effects native in the game engine? Crappy wind effects with physx in Asylum and crappy hair growing in Witcher 3 that doesn't work properly, crappy rain and smoke effects in Arkham Knight that tank the frame rate to almost unplayable.

OMG they unreleased a released game. I dont think i have ever seen that. They better be overhauling it, and it better be much better graphically than the PS4. that version is getting some praise out there.

Unreal 3 was a poor engine choice they would have been better off porting to unreal 4
To make matters worse they took Unreal 3 witch is already bloated and slow and tacked a bunch of useless gameworks crapware on top of it

Sry for double post, on mobile. But yeah I'm surprised they didnt go with Unreal 4. For a total "next Gen" game, I would have opted to develop it on next Gen engine.

Yeah PS4 owners must be beaming with joy about now. And the weird thing about the bench too, is it runs at 60 FPS, while the game is capped at 30 FPS. Bench my arse! More like pointless video.

Wow o_O

FAILLL :shadedshu:

Oh, more news, if sources are correct we won't see the game re-released for a few months. Perhaps even as late as August/September.

I would say an entire year just to be on the safe side :pimp:

CDPR did that with their competely broken first game, The Witcher. The result was a completely fixed game (which went free to those that had already bought the broken version).

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
I feel like we keep revisiting the idea that proprietary bullshit in games is terrible, and when it happens and devs get greedy by using these closed source black box approaches they start failing to really give us well coded games, and we keep encouraging this by purchasing said games.

Don't get me wrong here, I would buy a 980Ti currently over ANY AMD card. But I keep seeing this trend and wonder why and how so many people can reason out the purchase of such crap.

Perhaps it is a defiant attitude where some may think "Oh, well MY hardware is superior enough and special enough to run this" or perhaps "I will see for myself, the haters and other fanboys are just knocking it since they can't run it" or whatever it is.

Whatever it is, we need to cut the childish crap (myself included) and start holding out on these crappy ports, make the developers listen and do their job of delivering a quality product that works on ALL hardware, new and old, fast and slow, and if they want to add proprietary effects, its done after the game is complete, and its icing on the cake for those who want to and can run it.

I watched the port report last night. Seeing the PS4 pad in the pc's controller options was surreal.
