Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Sure seems like it... asks advice, gets good advice from MOST people annnnnnd goes 850W even though every single talking point he made was corrected/debunked.

You can lead the horse to water...

... and not my money. If the OP wants to spend cash for no reason on a 850W unit, by all means... We did out part! :)

Good luck...and unsubscribed. :)

You can't really go wrong with Corsair from RM series up and Seasonic higher models. BeQuiet Dark Power Pro units also surprised me greatly. Amazing PSU.

I read the thread, even the post where someone stated that 850W would be "overkill", which I agree with.
Another suggested 550W.
But, OP has decided to go with 850W, which is his lower than his original plan, however higher than what was suggested.
Of course, I support his right to do as he pleases.

your correct, when you go up 200watts , respectively, the $ increase is minimal, once you have reached the 650Watt range PSU...but i think what the others are saying is that based on theyre experience, they know for a fact that its not needed, and therefore $ that could be better spent elsewhere. In the end its your decision OP, TBH, i have Never purchased a PSU with a wattage over 650 Watts for myself(and i have run dual GTX970's +overclocked CPU's, modded GPU bios' etc...).... Ive bought them @ the orders of customers, friends, etc...against my better judgement, but sometimes, as was said before "you can lead a horse to water, but cant make it drink".

BTW, i meant the G2 was my choice in my earlier post.....I own the G2's, and they are spectacular PSU's, if i were You, id buy a good brand (with a wattage you feel is needed) and be done with it.. I recommend the G2 EVGA, and as another member said...the Corsair RX are also nice.

Good luck with your Purchase,

One final thought:

Under pressure from governments supporting UN Agenda 21, manufacturers have been trending towards lower TDP parts.
System Builders are increasingly using 400-450W PSUs in their offerings.
Purchasing a PSU that is more than your needs today, will almost become even more overkill in the future as components become less and less power hungry.

i just checked this site http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator and according to that it recommends a 1k psu.. I do plan on upgrading my system ..proceesor motherboard ram. and when keying in those extra things.. its over 850 for the recommendation. im not denying any of you are wrong..i just want to make sure that what i get is going to be enough. and i do appreciate everyones advise.

Calculators made by PSU retailers often grossly overestimate your power needs.
The reason being; they want to sell you a more expensive product!

Your overthinking this and second-guessing yourself now. When you buy a component you need to shop realistically never ever make a purchase for what might occur or what may happen only for what you need. Do you realize that an EVGA 750 W G2 supernova delivers 748 W on the 12 V rail alone(the GPU power plugs of a Power supply)?

Unless you're going to add another computer to your computer you don't need any more than what was suggested. Im Not picking on you I'm just trying to help you.

Based on Maxwell 2.0 and 3.0(Pascal), which has significantly lowered TDP, that would be correct.
Many often still think in terms of the previous generation of parts that drew way more power than today's components.

Don't go by PSU calculators. They often exaggerate because they have to take into account that some people are using crap PSUs that can't deleiver what they claim reliably. Go by reviews. Here's a review of a GTX 1080 FE. Note the reviewer is running a i7 4960x which uses more power that your i5 3570k.

Total system power used 335 watts

http://www.anandtech.com/show/10325/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-and-1070-founders-edition-review/30

You don't really need more than a quality 500 watt PSU. Bear in mind that most quality PSUs also have a reserve capacity as well. Get a 600 watt PSU if you want too but beyond that it's just adding unnecessary expense.
