This post has been deleted because there seems to be no confirmation for the allegations.

The forum thread has been kept around, in case further discussion is needed.

Please read before you post.
I read it, is this a joke ? your example paragraph reads like some tinfoil hat nonsense.
This coming from someone who has been an AMD and TPU fan long before youtube and Gamers Nexus even existed.

This is literally grasping at straws. Steve Burke has repeatedly mentioned the fact that they buy their own hardware with revenue from Patreon and the like. It's the reason they can be so caustic at times without necessarily worrying about staying on a manufacturer's mailing list. And regarding the row of green boxes, must we mention the absolute torrent of SKUs from team green over the past months?

As I said, "here's what's _being alleged_", and an example of the allegation. I cast no aspersions on the neutrality of GamersNexus, this could be anyone making YouTube videos with boxes in the background (which is pretty much every YouTube-based media). I follow GN, so their video came up on top.

Surprise? Hell no, I don't even get surprised with this news.
Ace Combat, go go go...

If I was going to write an article about this I would be focusing on reviews where they where comparing AMD to AMD and no or few Nvidia cards instead of talking about boxes.

When you caption an image with "not a coincidence" and use the term "alleged" in the same article, you only contradict yourself. I am not the one making the assumptions here, you are, but also at the same time you're denying it.

Except you conveniently ignore the big disclaimer before the image: "here's an _example of what's being alleged_ [by the whistleblower]."

If that's so hard to catch, I'll just add "by the whistleblower" to the disclaimer.

I am not surprised at all about product placement, as its blatant on every youtube review category, it is a key means of revenue.

As far as comparison of obsolete 580 to detract from achievements of 5700 ... sounds so sinister

With all the discussions going on here, and on the gamer nexus discord. I think this example was very badly chosen.

Especially since this video was a follow up on all the single 5700 cards, and compare them directly. The variation between them is minimal, and they have been take apart and tested in seperate videos.

And the video about the RX 5700XT Nitro+ has a lot of Nvidia Cards in it as well. 2080TI, 2080, 2080 super, 2070 super, 2070, 2060 super and 2060 on the bottom of the chart.

So, once again, very badly chosen example.

I always though GN set was just disorganized. He moved into a new office but decided to build the backdrop as the old one. Many/Majority Youtube techers like to keep that living out of the garage look. Linus is the only one that's successfully over the years transition to a more professional business model, pay to play

If anyone is Product Placing on Steve Burke its der8auer. That bromance between the two is undeniable.

If I were to judge reviews for their credibility, I'd be looking into reviews that uses modern metrics like 0.1% low/1% low framerate, frametime, etc. instead of making charts of average framerate that gives zero indication regarding end user experience or hiccups certain games and driver combinations may or may not have.
Both are actually valuable and helpful for a bigger picture view.

When you caption an image with "not a coincidence" and use the term "alleged" in the same article, you only contradict yourself. I am not the one making the assumptions here, you are, but also at the same time you're denying it.
I see what you are getting at, but it's just a simple example man. That said a better example is pretty easy to come by for those splitting hairs. It w as 'in bad taste' (by accident) at worst... completely innocuous at best.

When i saw the nvidia boxes first i though, well just boxes...
I was more interested in the other stuff on the shelf, and i want to have that wodden boxes or the Socked where the Vega founders editon is sittin on with the Radeon VII Die intigrated.

I'm beginning to think people here just like being upset.

Anyway, why does GN hate bald people soo much?

You make your assumptions, let others make theirs, thank you very much.
go pound sand bta this is pure clickbait at best and possibly illegal at worst

don't post garbage like this again full stop

@W1zzard find another editor in chief if you want this site to survive another year

I find it funny and sad because Steve Burke uses TPU as a news source.

Who cares? I wouldn't put it past Nvidia to pull off a stunt like this, (they have a well documented history of these kinds of practices) but AMD are riding a wave of popularity and dragging their GPU product range with them. AMD have perfected the art of remaining relevant over a long period of time and are constantly in the headlines, because they pace themselves, have you ever wondered why AIB partner boards are delayed with AMD, release a product under fanfare and just as the excitement starts to ebb release AIB partner boards pure genius. If you look at the RX 5000 series for example there is literally no performance difference between AIB boards and the in house products, the major differences are heat and noise, but when the AIB boards were introduced it was like a 2nd round of GPU launches. I hear that AMD should be more agressive and take the sword to Nvidia, but the fact that (If true) Nvidia have to resort to these shenanigans should give AMD and Intel confidence in their products.

welp that's comming to a stop lol

you notice the last couple years nobody is talking about techpowerup anymore

mostly because we went from an upstanding news and review site to pushing clickbait and drama to drive the dwindling traffic

I don't even care if its true or not the fact that GN got dragged into this is what is morally and legally wrong in my book

I just read the full reddit text. And that Nvidia is doing that, which i believe is true for some youtube channels, indicates that Nvidia is afraid of a real competition :)

And i have to state again, picking a Gamer Nexus picture, was a very bad example. And it still not removed at this point.

Edit: Picture has been removed at 4:35 UTC +2 on the 25th of October 2019

Really screwed the pooch now with your Reddit conspiracy "news" postings Btarunr
this crap has gone on long enough he's been shitting all over tpus good name with this garbage for months
it needs to fucking stop,

Totally legit. The greenboxes highlight various AMD GPUs, Threadripper CPUs, motherboards and VEGA Die showcases, from TPU's own alleged example by the whistleblower.
>lel not even in frame
>also been there since the rtx launch
whats more egregious is all the cleaning supplies I think there in bed with clorox
