Just watched AMD's keynote, FSR looks quite good, lets see how and when it gets implemented in actual games, I hope Cyberpunk would be between the first ones :)

I feel bad for review sites, there are like 5 different FSR settings to choose from... so reviewing game performance with FSR is going to be more time consuming than DLSS which only has two settings lol

if I were spending that kind of money i'd just get the 48" OLED and sit further back. any reason why you want the g9 over an OLED? just curious

I game on a first gen Super Ultra Wide, a Samsung 32:9 49" 3840x1080 144Hz Freesync 2 monitor (basically 2x 27" 144Hz 1080P monitors stuck together) and I love it. That extra width in games makes it so much more immersive for me, I'd moved from 16:9 to 21:9 years ago, and I don't think I can go back to just 16:9 now.....

Because i can always game at 3440x1440 or 2560x1440 still with perfect scaling and benefit of 240hz rather then lower refresh rate with games that do not support super ultrawide or ultrawide.
its the only 240hz ultrawide on market atm

And AMD be like, ok, Nvidia's DLSS has 2-3 setting, we shall have 4-5, moar is better :D

Hi fellow RX 6000 series owners....I have a slightly unusual question: did you ever run the 3DMark DirectX Raytracing feature test?

I have an Asus TUF RX 6900 XT OC. With 21.4.1 drivers, I see a very low score in the 3DMark DirectX Raytracing feature test: 27.41 FPS. I see something abnormal in the monitoring logs: the GPU Memory Clock Frequency seems to drop down quite a lot and is very unstable. Only see this kind of behavior in DirectX Raytracing feature test.

The issue is fixed if I roll back to 21.2.3. With 21.2.3 drivers I see 32.18 FPS.

I do see something slightly abnormal in the monitoring logs: the GPU Memory Clock Frequency seems to fluctuate quite a bit. Only see this kind of behavior in this raytracing feature test.

All drivers after 21.2.3 seem to have the problem!

Have any of you seen this issue?

My PC specs:
GPU: Asus TUF RX 6900 XT OC (Power Slider: +15%, Max Frequency: 2600 MHZ).
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (PBO ON)
Motherboard: Asus Strix B550-F Gaming (WiFi)
BIOS Version: 1804
RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3800MHZ CL16 (2x16GB)
PSU: Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 1000W 80+ GOLD FULLY MODULAR
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO 19043

Suspect my memory is no longer stable with 6900 XT before i ran soc voltage 1.175 no load line calibration and it passed 1000% 2 times easily but now i had Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap bsod caused by AMDRSServ.exe which i think is also responsible for recording which if set to record directly into memory at the time i was playing dyson sphere program and was also messing with hardware monitoring related things altho i am starting to suspect its memory.
if i run soc voltage at stock default no changes i sometimes error instantly within 5 minutes sometimes it takes hours, before i raised it to 1.175 and got a 1000% pass for 2 times

Can you explain to me, what looked good? I was disappointed about the massive blur .. Most video's I have seen on youtube comes to the conclusion that it's worse than DLSS 1.0 and nothing but a spatial upscaler.

When you are able to spot blur in a heavily compressed video, it will be even worse when you actually use it.

DLSS 1.0 marketing video looked great, yet it sucked, so my expectations for FSR have been lowered greatly.

The 1060 screenshot looks bad. No doubt about it but the video with the 6000 series presenting the godfall game with FSR modes look good to me.
Too bad, this video has been omitted in WCCFtech's article.

Yeah on the STILLs, where they just showed the percentages. I bet both sides are running at native here.

If you skip to the actual gameplay video, you can clearly see smearing and blur on the right side which is FSR enabled, looks like motion blur is applied and that is the huge problem with spatial upscaling (which is nothing new for pc gamers)

I will get highly surprised if FSR is even remotely close to DLSS 2.0 in terms of performance and visuals - I expect DLSS 1.0 results or worse tbh

Watch this, FSR has issues

I'd rather wait for the actual release of FSR and have well regarded tech sites like TPU, guru3d, LTT, HU, etc to review and opine about FSR, not some YT presentation by someone I don't recognize at all. Analyzing PQ based on some vid (which should be compressed) is an instant fail for me when I watched that vid, I cannot take anyone who forms an opinion based simply on that. Do I expect PQ/IQ to match DLSS 2.0? No, of course not, but I'm just hoping it'd be 'good enough', hopefully better than DLSS 1.0 but below 2.0. We'll just have to wait and see for FSR to be released to see what trade offs PQ-wise would have to be made.

Now compare them with DLSS 1.0.

DLSS 1.0 was actually not that bad at 4k

Anyways comparing to DLSS 1.0 is pretty moot, DLSS 2.0 came out 16 months ago. If anyone think FSR is worth the performance uplift/Image quality trade off when they were complaining about DLSS 2.0 then they are just being hypocritical

I am not complaining about DLSS. It is good, especially for mid-range and entry-level gamers but FSR would be a one-click FPS boot for those hoards of Fortnite (and similar games) players on a laptop who don't necessarily do a pixel count on each frame.
Also, DLSS(quality) at 1440p (had a 2080ti before) was noticeably worse than native for me.

I will only judge FSR when I see it with my own eyes, at this moment nobody can actually judge how good or bad FSR is because nobody actually has seen it with their own eyes. (besides internal AMD employees and some developers)(and no, seeing a video in a video is not equal to seeing it with your own eyes )

Anybody who makes judgements now without actually having seen FSR on their own screen is probably biased either negatively or positively, so not to say the word "a fanboy" (either of AMD or of Nvidia).

Needless to say, fanboy opinions of either AMD or Nvidia have 0 relevance either way :)
I agree.
I will waite to see it myself before I judge it.

As you said it is always funny how fanboys start trolling around every time.

I agree AMD is late to the party but let's see how FSR will develop in the future. I also don't think AMD at the moment can challenge DLSS 2.0 but let's see.
This is also first AMD generation to support RTX at all. Let's see how it will develop in next generations of cards.

I mean nobody including me expected anything from RDNA2 as many thought no way AMD will ever catch up with Nvidia but here we are with 6900XT trading blows with 3090 on non RTX tests. :D

Many then said Nvidia will bring 3080Ti to blow AMD away but according to review from TPU it is not much faster than 6900XT.
It is pity that W1zzard did not include his 6900XTXH card to compare to 3080Ti.

It would be really interesting though if 3080Ti will sell for 1200$. If that happens then at least gamers have one option to get a card that is not crazily overpriced at the moment.

6900XT is selling for almost 2000€ and 3090 for near to 3000€. o_O

All they’re saying is wait for the real thing, then judge for yourself. Everything is hearsay for now.

Yeah, but I do, in rasterization my 3080 beats 6800XT and sometimes even 6900XT, for 700 dollars

When I enable DLSS 2.0 in supported games, it just leaves them in the dust instead - Or use RT

DLSS 2.0 is like magic for 4K/UHD gaming, allows for ~100 fps in Cyberpunk maxed out, try that on a 6900XT, you will not even hit the 60 fps mark  with dips below 40 or enable RT for those sweet 15-20 fps minimums

AMD is simply years behind on RT and AI Upscaling
Please stop trolling on RDNA2 owners thread and trying to bring this thread into NVIDIA vs AMD flame war. :(

We really don't care about DLSS 2.0 and I never tried or compared it to DLSS 1.0.
I just simply don't care about it.

I like to game at 2k with high frame rates and for that my 6900XTU is a great card having frame rate in range of 100-110 in Cyberpunk on Ultra settings.

I go 4k CP2077 with fidelityFX and it's OK. Sometimes I drop one detail to make it run faster :D The idea of going 1440p for whatever reason and resigning from 4k is not for me. I'm simply to 4K admirer to drop 1440p if I really don't have to.

Are you serious? I got a 27 inch 4k 144hz and I couldn't be more happier with it :) You know, if you can't see good enough just bump the font size :)
I ditched my glasses a year ago and I haven't even noticed and yet I'm not a young one either :p My LG GN950 is just awesome :)

I was thinking about 4K, but then I got a UW monitor, and I don't want to go back to a non UW
Cyberpunk is the only game that I want to see the FSR on my 6800XT, its the only game that with RT on goes to 30 FSP at my resolution, and I mean only reflections, shadows and global illumination are not something I am impressed by in Cyberpunk, but RT reflections does look better.
