NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has been selected as one of only seven individuals to receive their own cover for the upcoming print edition of the TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2021. The Taiwanese-American earned a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1992 before co-founding NVIDIA in 1993 where he now holds the role of CEO. He has been described as one of the most technically savvy CEOs by Andrew Ng who is a founder of DeepLearning.AI and has written about Jensen for Time.

When Jensen directed NVIDIA to focus on GPU development in 2003 there was considerable skepticism however the gamble has paid off with the company holding a market-leading position and recording profits in the billions. This latest award will add to the numerous already received by him including the Robert N. Noyce Award from the Semiconductor Industry Association and an honorary doctorate from the National Taiwan University. The special 2021 print edition of TIME 100 Most Influential People will be available to purchase from September 17th.

Does this mean Nvidia will be giving out a free game for the good news :)

He's more jacket now than man, twisted and evil

Influential people? That is so damn lame for someone like Jensen. It reminds me of all the crooked Influencers on YouTube which all they do is give false information and scam people of their money because that is literally all they want. He should be a good CEO and that has nothing to do with feeding false data or sell twisted understanding about future tech without any major influence of the direction it will go.
I remember when seeing the presentation he was a part of about new graphics. When he pulled out a graphics card from the oven in a tight room. Damn I thought I was watching master chef or other cooking channel. How is that influential and how good it was you guys tell me.

6800 XT matches a 3080 ti in nearly all games at 1080p, at less than half MSRP. whatever engineers designed that card should win the award imo. shame AMD isn't making hardly any of them.

Who is this tiny man? That pose xD. Look at me now, I'm the captain. Haha. Jokes aside.

I do not crawl every forum and so, but I have never heard him talking outside new gpu releases. While AMD have from time to time. Jensen know how to hide.

AMD wins in Full HD because of their small, but still additional cache. When it goes to 2k or higher GDDR6 falls behind to GDDR6X

at 1440p the difference is not very much. at 4k yes though 3080 ti beats it by a lot. still for $649 msrp... 6800 XT is a great deal for most 1440p and 1080p gamers. really a shame AMD is not mass producing them... they would have gained a lot of gpu market share this round. they made a huge mistake by not focusing on it.

True, well AMD does make ps5 and ex box ex and ex box es gpu'... AMD at this time would be winner too if in their current APU would be weak RDNA 2 gpus...

But they can't deliver quantity. Same goes for nvidia. When the new cpu's will come out with RDNA2 iGPU i guess they will have plenty of defective chips from GPU sector.

Now all the Nvidia fans can have easy access to a "dear leader" picture they can easily frame and hang on the wall directly over their bed

No they're not, they're focusing on x86 enterprise which has a much larger T.A.M. than consumer GPUs, and much better repeat customers once you get them... The same thing cannot be said for consumers who, just based on the sheer volume of psychological research, make purchasing decisions based on a completely irrational (as in non-empirical) basis. Just look at the data from the late 2000s and early 2010s when AMD offered faster GPUs at a better value proposition and Nvidia still outsold them by a large margin.... Say what you will about AdoredTV, but he made a great multipart series on this very subject about two years ago with full reference citations so you know the data is accurate. A lot of people will just knee-jerk claim "drivers" as the reason for this, but other than a bunch of completely anecdotal evidence (as in people anecdotally claiming this on the internet with absolutely zero empirical evidence to back this up, or even research from a trusted source) there's no really compelling evidence to back this up.

It may be a tenuous Analogy, but it is sort of like how the vast majority of people who first time watercool just automatically buy EK without even bothering to research alternatives, then these people post their builds on social media and YouTube, so they get more mind share causing more people to just assume to buy EK without looking at alternatives because since they see it everywhere they just automatically assume it "must be the best". Same thing with Nvidia, people are bombarded with articles stating Nvidia owns 80% of the consumer dGPU market, so people see this and assume that has to mean they're the best so they automatically buy Nvidia, it's like a self fulfilling prophecy. I'm not going to claim Nvidia makes bad products, that's not the case, but I will say that "most popular" does not automatically equate to the best product.... We can all agree that McDonald's sells more food than any other restaurant, but would anyone claim they have the best "product" with respect to quality?

All done up in his best darth vader outfit, trying to look tough.
Oh man that's funny.

I'm sure this will do wonders to his ego. Even despite all my contempt towards corporations and mindless corporate drones, I have to admit he is a hell of an effective CEO, so this distinction is well deserved.

The Harry and Meghan one is far worse.

No. It means that TIME's editor's kid finally got the 3080Ti they've been asking for all year.

For real though. If I were you I'd be keeping an eye on their social media. The amount of giveaways they do each year is insane.

MSRPs are pointless in the current market. Both cards are around the same price here in Europe. Well, the 6800xt is 1400€ while the 3080Ti is 1500€. It's realy unfair to compare an MSRP of a product from before the shortage with one that released during the shortage. If the 6800xt released right now the MSPR would be much much higher.

Not sure were in Europe you are but in Norway You can get the 6800XT for around 1200EUR (You can actually get it for that price 1300EUR) and 3080 TI's start from around 1800EUR ( and you can get it for that price) So there is a huge difference
