AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D

..When paired with faster memory. 13th gen 5600 MT vs 5200 on the new x3d part. Oof
The point of high end Intel is you can pair memory 2000 MT faster than on AMD, so why wouldn't you.

13900K/7950X3D 6000 MT matching performance.
Is not the same as
13900K at 7800/8000 MT vs 7950X3D 6000 MT.

Sure, but then show tests for that, not idiotic 5200 vs 5600…

You realize that the gaming power usage is 100W higher on the intel part?
50W vs. 150W
Doesn't matter. Its easier to cool due to better IHS and larger die. Plus 150 W is fine for even a cheap aftermarket cooler.

@ W1zzard Are there other Ram dividers on Zen 4 for higher than 1:1 infinity fabric settings ?
It's 2:1:1 forthe settings now right ? is there a 2:2:1 setting ? cause I'm curious how it effects Zen 4

I'ts nice to see that with a the next 3D vcache were getting more OC options, seems like AMD is slowly ironing out those vcache oc issuse to get closer to normal non-vcache chips

Does that help?

Outright gaming performance is slightly disappointing that it's not further ahead of Intel, basically tied.

But what kills Intel's 13900K and 13900KS is this:

I mean the same performance but literally double (!!!) the power consumption to achieve it. Intel needs a total re-design at some point soon.

Pretty impressive considering AMD has an R&D budget of less than a third of Intel's! It's obvious that the 7800x3d will be the new pound for pound (fps per dollar) gaming champion....the crazy efficiency advantage is a big plus too, unfortunately a lot of PC "enthusiasts" seemed to have only cared about efficiency when Nvidia released maxwell, haha.

i9 13900KS is still the king....

How, we know the 7800x3d will be just a little better and about half the price of the 13900KS while using half the energy, so how can you make that claim? I'm seriously asking.

If you care about power you aren’t an enthusiast.
I disagree with that completely... I seem to remember a lot of "enthusiasts" couldn't stop talking about efficiency when it was Nvidia's Maxwell architecture

Is it? Got some numbers?
I’d say that 50 vs 150W is a pretty noticeable difference.
It's pretty well known and documented that it's much much much easier to cool an Intel cpu cause of the ihs. Like...MUCH MUCH easier

So Intel still holds gaming crown despite the V-Cache?

Myself I would choose the AMDs here, don't get me wrong. But I somehow think we will see Intel 13900K/13900KS in most reviewer test systems and "ultimate builds" out there...

Easier enought to offset 3x heat output? I don’t think so. Even intel stock cooler is enough for 50W.
And you are making claims with nothing to back them up.
... Try reading the review.

Doesn't matter. The issue is thermal transfer bottleneck not total thermal load.

To suggest over double the power consumption (actually closer to triple) 'doesn't matter' is an extremely bad take. It's pretty much all that matters in this case as performance is more or less the same.

Yeap With the exception of cyberpunk that basically melts Intel cpus in terms of power draw, everything else runs cool and quiet even with el cheapo air coolers.. Now I don't know if the 3d runs even cooler, but that's not the point and it doesn't matter. The point is your average 40-50€ cooler is enough for gaming no matter what you choose.

Wait..how? I'm looking at the average FPS charts and the 7950x3d is at the top...then looking at the hypothetical 7800x3d, it's even better for AMD...am I reading it incorrectly?

It doesn't matter in terms of cooling, which is the context.
