Found that this ASRock Z590 OC Formula motherboard has an OLED display that shows fan speed etc. Is this motherboard something to recommend? It is specially made for overclocking. https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z590 OC Formula/index.html#Overview I do not play games. It only have RGB on the board and i guess it suits to Kolink? Many other chassis require aRGB, does it work with an adapter if i buy a aRGB chassi? Are there more motherboards with a display on the motherboard? The ASRock AQUA Z690 also ot a disply. The design is quite unique. Also noticed some ASRock have gears with a small band on the motherboard, are they for the design? The board support 10/11th generation Intel but not Xeon? https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550 Taichi/ i am new to this with so-called gaming motherboards but i like the design and a beautiful computer in front of the TV is not so stupid. Read to the formula description: The CPU Fan Connector supports the CPU fan of maximum 1A (12W) fan power. Seems low? Have 18w in an older computer. I guess i then must look for a cpu fan that has 12W at max?

It is a nice design, the display is on the formula. Do you know of any heatsinks that are suited for overclocking that suits? And the most suited memorys?

Thanks i forgot. I guess the cpu fan that only has 12w must be a special one? I think old computers have more? I have many retro and one has 18w. I think it is little w to the Cpu one fan?

Anyone knows what is the best performance processor to this board and the cheapest? I guess only 10 and 11 generation suits and not any older?

Yes 10th and 11th Gen only (socket 1200) so if you are looking for the best possible performance then it's likely a choice of i9 10850K, 10900K or 11900K, however if you are really looking to push any of those CPU's to the max with this motherboard you are likely to need some pretty beefy cooling.

Thanks. You have any heatsink if i are going to try to overclock to recommend?

Does Windows 11 work on this motherboard? And what takes of the processor?

I guess Intel BX8070110400F Core i5-10400F Processor, is one of the cheapest as new? Around 100$. It could do when i do not play games. 2.90ghz as base and 4,30 with turbo, six cores. I have a Dell T3500 with a 2.40ghz six core xeon, 2,89ghz with turbo according to windows. I can play 8K video with only 20-30% cpu usage. So this must do the same work.

Well that i5 isn't a K model so don't expect overclocking.

For the higher models, you're looking at higher end AIOs or custom water cooling.

Thanks. Is all processors with K for overclocking? I guess you can't have older processors then 10th generation in this? Of course i want better ones, but i wait 1 year before i buy the highest.

As I said before, only 10th or 11th Gen for that motherboard, I am not sure why you would consider a high end and expensive overclocking motherboard if you don't intend to overclock, you would be better off buying a more budget orientated board without the overclocking options if you are getting a 10400f or buy a middle ranged and cheaper Z490 or Z590 board with a K series processor.

I got lucky. It is down from 299 to 160 on amazon now. From 120$ shipping to 60$. I wanted to start with a smaller cpu because of the money. Will buy a bigger later. It stand that the cu fan only can be on 12w. Do i need a special fan. In my other computer i think they are on 20w. The second cpu fan contact was on more w but not the first.

Can you insert a asus gtx 560 ti 1gb that should have Pci-e 2.0? I will have a EVGA Geforce RTX 2080 ti when i have more money. I like the blue light on the card.

PCI-E slots in terms of physical compatibility are all the same, the 2.0 (as opposed to 3.0 or 4.0) deal more with the bandwidth it can use.

Do you know what memory type that works best for this motherboard?
No not that board in particular, try taking a look at the QVL list for the board on the ASrock website (although other kits will likely work, the list only shows what was tested with the board normally). Our review of the board that I linked earlier used a 16GB (2x 8GB) ram kit from Gskill, the Trident Z Neo F4-3600C16Q-32GTZN.

Thanks. The CPU Fan Connector supports the CPU fan of maximum 1A (12W) fan power. I guess many newer cpu fans is on 12w? Or do i need a special heatsink and fan? In my older computers they have more watt.

There looks to be 2* 8 pin to the cpu. My https://www.thermaltake.com/smart-rgb-700w-230v.html only seems to have 2* 6 pin and 2* 4 pin. Do i need more power to this board? Does this works good for overclocking in light format? https://www.amazon.se/Noctua-NH-D15...ocphy=1012506&hvtargid=pla-563446263965&psc=1
No, many manufacturers introduced the extra 2 x 4 pin on intel boards to provide optional additional EPS power for extreme overclocking especially with the power draw of the core i9's at the time, I have the additional 2 x 4 on my Z490 board but I don't use it and whilst I only have a 6 core 12 thread i5 10600K I can happily overclock it without restriction, I will run out of cooling performance way before I run out of power.

Have you bought the board yet?

No not yet. I missed the oppurtunity to but it for 135$ with 26$ shipping on amazon. Now it costs 259 and a week before 159$. with 66$ shipping I wait til it goes down to 135$. Do you think the Noctua cooler in the link will work good or do i need any more special?

if you are really going to go with the 10400F to start with the Noctua should be fine.

I got the board this Monday. I plugged it in without processor and memory and the ligths are on the board. What is the best cheap processor for this gen 10 or 11? I suppose 11 when it got PCI 4 and Turbo boost 3.0. I will buy a cheap first and then a more expensive. Around 200$. I guess some M2 cards require Gen 11?

Get the best 11th Gen that you can afford at the moment if only for Gen 4 PCI-E however when you do settle for something better you will need at least an i7 CPU to take advantage of Turbo boost 3.0. M2 NVME drives work fine with 10th gen but IMO it would be beneficial to get a Gen 4 NVME to take advantage of the additional bandwidth.

One good thing about 11th gen is that they still use the same instruction sets as current 13th gen but with 11th gen you get the advantage of AVX512 over current gen. There is a little story about why Intel dropped that feature from 12th gen via bios if you look it up.

I got my i5 Intel 11400f processor yesterday and the temp without memory's in it goes to around 35. In my Dell T3500 it goes on 21-27 in idle with 2 120mm fans in the front. The original cpu cooler don't have any fan attached. Is it a normal temp or have a placed the cooler wrong?
