What's your latest tech purchase?

Don't do this to me! I'm way too tempted already.

Ah yes, the kaboom speed ram
It's 1.35V, so no. CL30 at that.

Tell me that it runs cooler than my 7700X, and I might "accidentally" put one in my basket and "accidentally" click buy. :D
I won't know until August, as I won't have all the parts here...

That's cool. I don't want to spend money on PC parts right before my holiday in July anyway (although I just might).

I wish I wasn't an everpoor lad who can't afford top-notch wares. Good purchase, let it serve you best!
Well, I'm fortunate, I don't have to pay for the motherboard at least.

Received another Dyson ventilator (from work) which helps with cooking (cpu's of food)

Man, this heat wave. Had a drizzle of rain but still 27C outside. So lets run a benchmark :D

Edit: F@cking hell Asus, first it doesn't recognize a different monitor, now I get the "BIOS is updating LED firmware." loop
I think I'm returning this mobo and pick one that doesn't b!tch as much.

But first I'm downloading Star..wars JS on my other pc

Edit 2: It turns out the GTX 1060 was the issue. I checked with my 'spare' 3070 and I could enter the bios no issue.
Updating the firmware of the 1060 should solve the issue. But for now I'll keep the 3070. And the mobo.

a little bit of this a little bit of that ...
main tech purchase ... nifty little thing ... did not take the + version since AR find need UWB (no more lost keychain, or phone for that matter ... well never lost a phone tho )
tested the tracking, 120m range easy and then gave it to a friend with a Samsung phone while he was going further away to test the tracking if it is in max120m from another Samsung phone, managed to track it quite far

25chf~ (the + is 39chf)

more tech for the bike (alongside to a 2m long 1cm thick steel cable to link my wheels with the main lock )
20230622_112823.jpg
Abus Alarm Box 2.0 (neat thing is i can remove the arming button and replace it with a 1m cable loop that can be used to secure the saddle later ) it's even louder and more precise than the M-Wave box i got previously (it give off a warning tone on light shake and then go wild for 15sec then rearm and repeat if the bike still is shaken or moved), the plastic fastener are not ... plastic but rather steel ribbon coated in plastic (as i found when i wanted to cut the lower one shorter  ) 79chf but priceless to secure my bike even more
(and peoples wonder why E-bike get stollen so often and easily ... obviously if you use a standard or flimsy bike lock ... you gonna get it.)

and to carry the new cable and a few other things ... SKS Explorer Exp. 13L saddlebag, waterproof, vent valve for easy packing, screw on mudguard (SKS X-Guard) and can be also used as a shoulderbag, 5kg max charge and it has reflector plus some spot to fit a rear light, yep perfect.

it's rolled compact because, obviously there is only the 2M cable in it.
the smaller mudguard is still useful to avoid wet thighs :D

What's that? What does it track?

well it's like the AirTag from Apple, it track the thing it is attached and show it on map and if i press the button on it twice it make my phone ring.

So it's basically a key finder, right? Cool!

How many times I have to use my wristband to find my phone in the house!

yep, as i use it on my keychain, indeed (and my watch can also ring the phone if needed) but i could put in my travelbag or find a housing to screw it under my bike saddle, it would track it up to 120m of my phone and then lose signal but pick it up again as soon as it come close to another Samsung phone with BT on, as i tested, it give me a notification as soon as it does and then i just have to tap on navigate to it.

hidden in a bag that got stollen, it could be a great help (like the AirTag it can also have some controversial stalking application ... well it was solved in the AirTag case iirc)

I was too tempted, as this was going for the equivalent of $93... No more shopping parts until August now.

Do running shoes count as tech? Bought myself some Brooks with really nice prices (although still high against local minimum wage, a STEAL against competing models here).

Glycerin 20 for R$480, Ghost 15 for R$420.

My office chair was one of the things I did invest in when setting up my gaming/office room when I moved. Some of the best spent money in my life.

i NEVER liked these oversized childseats :D but my brother bought one and i tested this one at his house and it is really comfortable, full metal frame, memory foam and thick bolts everywhere.
it's different but so far i can say it's very comfortable.
at least it's better than all the "HLH; OXHGHJ Shop" china sellers that sell basically waste material in form of a chair.
