I just tried my Ryzen 2600 PC and nothing happens.:(I checked to see if it was PSU with my PSU tester it is working fine.:)Why does the PC show no signs of lifeo_O.I put a NVME drive in there some time ago but only just tried it no light nothing at all.:(tried a gpu that does not need power, checked that the two connecters for the PSU were well connected.Took the Ram out trying one at a time, still nothing. The thing is when i tested the PSU in the case all the lights came on.o_O

Another week of finding and collecting etc. Really liking picking up older beasts for a fraction of their new value.

Give more details, list the components for example :)

Wut? There was a 8600 GT with a VF700-Al as its stock cooler? Noice!

XFX, they've been making great cards for a long time :) This one has clearly suffered through the years. I'm certain I have two though, I had them in SLi, there's a chance another is buried in a box somewhere.

Though I love that they just showed middle finger to Nvidia and jumped to the Radeon ride back in the day :D I have two XFX HD 4890s in my stash, hella great cards especially when Crossfired :toast:

Today's a happy day, my AGP system setup is completed. I buy a generic 15 inch LCD because I didn't have any VGA monitor at home for retro gaming PC. The ingredients is an LGA 775 with Pentium 4 524 3.06GHz Hyperthreaded CPU, and Intel D865GSA motherboard, and 2GB DDR-400 RAM. I like this board while browsing used market online (got this one as combo) because it mixed of old and new. Using old i865 northbridge on newer LGA775 socket, and using ICH5 southbridge that supports native SATA ports so don't need to sideload F6 drivers. That's good enough for me to run XP. Apart from dust the board looks good, no leaky caps and all

Joining this build is Sapphire Radeon 9100 128MB. This particular card only got VGA out so that's the reason I bought 15 inch VGA LCD. I will be running 1024x768 anything bigger will run at 1280x1024, and since I can't find any CRT monitor this gotta do. (If you wonder, the GPU inside the PC in pic below is newer Radeon 9550 256MB, reason I opt for Radeon 9100 is because only R200 GPU can run ATi Truform in hardware, I will try to compare performance later on, also the DVI on the 9550 not working too which is weird)

As an added bonus the monitor have small speakers and AUX in so I plugged it into Audigy 2 ZS, sound excessive yes :D Playing period correct games like Vice City, RtCW, C&C Renegade just feels awesome.

It really feels nostalgic, every single bit of it, the tiny low res square monitor, the tinny speaker, noisy whiny Intel stock cooler. It's just something I can't explain in words. Intel Pentium 4 is the one that I read about its architecture back then because I really wanted to know why it so slow in terms of performance while its clockspeed is so high, xbitlabs article explaining about NetBurst architecture is the best IMO. You guys can read it on wayback machine. I ran 3DMark01SE and it cant even reach 10k 3DMark but I don't care, it just feels good to run this kind of system again :)

CCL Build B450M DS3H Motherboard 16 gig ram XPG, 2600x cpu. tried RX 580 and 960 and a 440.I guess as there is no lights on the motherboard that must be the problem.I will have to take it out of the case to test it.

Get a beeper/speaker for troubleshooting :)

Also test the memory modules invidially with every slot.

Good grief does that card need some TLC!! Caps and a new heatsink.
It's unfortunately very worse for wear, unknown if it works at all but I doubt I'll ever test / use that one, just needs to be prettied up for display.

Fair enough. You can press the tops of the caps back in, but you still need a new heatsink.

Believe it or not it looked a fair bit worse and I unbent some of the more drastically bent fins. fans spins unobstructed but yeah, not really fussed with workability on this card in particular, just need to spend time with the right tools getting those fins looking good again.

Back fan on my Ryzen PC not spinning. Is it in correctly see photo?o_OAso RX 580 not working on there:(When i put a. GPU that needs power no signal ,but the fan of the GPU spins, but the works PC works with a non powered GPU.I had to take the zip ties off the back to get the front panal connecters on.Any ides o_OI have tried another PSU same thing only works with a non power GPU ,that must mean a dodgy motherboard. :(Taking it out of case yet again tried with my test rig shown earlier powered GPU,S now post but problems with the fans on the RX580 960 works fine.I guess i will have to put it in another case. The case i got it with it is to small i would never get it back in there to much cable management for me.At least i know the board it ik.:)

This is not the topic to discuss this. But the back fan dose not look to be plugged in properly. Also move the RAM to the grey slots, the 2nd and 4th one. The PCIE retention clip is broken on the top slot. If it fits you could try your GPU in the bottom slot. Also try to unplug your PC from the wall socket and then remove the battery for a few minutes, then put it back in and try with the GPU. Also make sure the card sits in ok in the PCIE socket. And that you plug in the monitor cable to the GPU not to the motherboard.

Thanks for helping me with all this.I will move the Ram to the grey slots. The PCIE retention clip was all ready broken off when i took the GPU out. :( The fan was a bit fiddly to put it in the board because the PC maker cable tied it to short. same thing with those front panal connecters. I guess the the RX 580 fans need fixing.Although it does post..Thanks once again for your help

First things first please blow the dust out of your PC as it's getting rather grubby
