I recently downloaded some sort of a file and it stole my entire computer, I was charged 30 bucks on ROBLOX and then he deleted all of my files, I factory reset the computer 4 times but he is still on the computer as after a little digging I found a workgroup that is not mine and I want to get rid of him from my computer what should I do.

Try resetting the bios, and also search if in your bios there's an option for auto driver install.
If there's one disable it.
If it's not resolved, then try reflash the bios.
Hope that it helped

What do you mean by factory reset? You restored windows to original state?

Best solution would be to format the PC HDD/SSD/NVme and reinstall windows since you already lost all your files.

When you format your drive you will loose all your data this should also remove any Malware that was installed.

Change your router wifi passwords try to protect your windows login account with a password as well. Most people today don't bother doing this.

Some quick things to try.

Install and run this app can help with some Malware and restore windows Winsock to default settings after the scan completes choose Run basic Repair.

Second quick but fast Malware and Virus Scanner with very good malware detection rate.

Select Run Full system scan option.

If there is a hardware level malware then you would need professional help and I would take it to a PC shop.

"Factory Reset" is not sufficient. You need to download a Windows installation ISO, burn it to disc or USB, and reinstall from ZERO. Reformat the drive. Try again. Less "questionable files". You might get lucky enough that that will do it.

This reminds me that only Original or official Window ISO should be used to install Windows some of these custom Windows ISO floating around the net have built in backdoors and this will lead to repeated infections.

It probably is hardware malware so I cant do anything about it not even reinstall windows or nothing?

i dont understand anything you said where is the mobo or a cmos jumper
Mobo = mother board aka the big thing where everything is connected
Cmos or rtc = real time clock, and where is located all the bios settings.
Resetting it will apply defeaults settings.
Getting the little battery out for a minute and reput it at it's place will also apply default bios settings

When reinstalling windows have no effects usually the malware is located in the bios

This is a mobo (eg. Gigabyte b550 aorus elite v2)

Here are the cmos battery and clear cmos jumper

I feel like its hardware malware

I feel like its hardware malware
Maybe an hardware exploit, but i never seen an "hardware malware"

EDIT: malware can only be software, since malware signifies "malicious program"

@trackrunner1
make sure the power plug is not connected to the pc, as even removing the battery in some cases wont help.
discharge "leftover" power by holding down the power button for a few seconds after removing the batt.

unplug the power from your router ass long as your working on the pc

sorry, no, hate stuff beyond email/phone mssg.

would be easier and way faster to have someone with a little pc knowledge to help you (friends/family),
instead of trying to go back and forth with any form of mssg.

to give you an idea: load the bios defaults, reboot, load optimized defaults (if there is the option for it),
and reinstall win from usb.
