Zenless Zone Zero servers are up a few hours earlier - supposed to launch tomorrow, 4th of July. Already played the initial chapter, game gives me Scarlet Nexus vibes. Great stuff! I also scored a very early UID. 129202 on the American server, for a Hoyoverse game that's basically first minute registration. Not bad! Hoyo states the minimum specification is supposed to be iPhone Xs/Apple A12, but it's running at medium/60 fps just fine on my Xs Max running iOS 18 beta 2. PC version on HoyoPlay and EGS should be up and running too.

It's a 19 GB download on iOS.

I'm also planning to play Bunny and eventually grind out that Ultimate form with that skin. 'at least its possible for free even if thats gonna take a good while'
The servers were acting up last night so I couldn't play much, hopefully it will be better later today.

I'm pretty much only playing free2play/gacha games at the moment since I'm like done with the current Diablo 4 season.
Wuthering Waves just got a new story update and Nikke got the Summer Event update along with some new summer limited character variations. 'I will leave them under a spoiler tag for the cultured ppl around here cause reasons'

I swear I also like the story/soundtrack/gameplay and events in Nikke but ofc nobody believes me when they see the characters in the game.

I been thinking about how ray tracing nowadays is like HDR rendering back in the day, so I reinstalled FarCry and do a comparison, I tried to do it on my retro gaming PC but Radeon X800 can't do HDR rendering so up to my main PC. What do you think? Game changer if you don't have it? That framerate is stuff of dreams back in the day, where most card back then can only do one tenths of that framerate. Weirdly I can't run FSAA with HDR rendering I wonder why....

"HDR" in the context of old DirectX 9.0C games (Far Cry, Oblivion, etc.) is just full-range luminance output compressed into an SDR output by tonemapping. It's very rudimentary next to modern HDR. These images are in SDR, or they'd look super funny in an SDR format (blown up colors, wrong brightness, etc.)

A proper container like JPEG XR or AVIF is required to display them on an HDR panel properly.

I'm enjoying it have about 10 hours in. One level 30 character another level 20 character.

I like this genre though and I would enjoy it a lot less if I didn't have buddies to play with.

So far the best part are the boss/void battles.

I have a PS5 but still waiting for Stellar Blade on PC I enjoyed the demo.

This is light years far from the AC vanilla look, and for that we can thank these two guys: Ilja Jusupov aka x4fab - the creator of AC Content Manager and Custom Shaders Patch (CSP), and Peter Boese - the creator of SOL and Pure, the weather & graphics mods for AC CSP. They made this game look amazing even today, 10 years from its launch. Although I'm running the Patreon ($1 monthly sub each) version of the CSP (rain FX isn't available in the free ver.), and the Pure (also Patreon subscription), the Peter's earlier work - SOL is completely free and still relevant part of the modding community. And the AC community is a huge and fascinating one.
Now I'm just missing a wheel setup and a VR headset.
And this isn't the final look, I'm still experimenting with everything more than I'm driving...

I'm playing with a DS4v2, so the TC and ABS on - are kinda mandatory, as well as other tweaking involved with DS4Windows, a gamepad mod etc. Apart from those limitations (TC and ABS), the car is really fun to drive. As I'm getting older I tend to appreciate the old cars more and more. Antithesis is driving something like this:


It just tends to spoil you like a child...
And sorry, I realized I didn't really answered your question. All non-TC and non-ABS cars are almost impossible to drive on a gamepad, so I really can't tell from this perspective. All I know is that with rain and Use extended physics checked (without it the cars won't know it's raining, snowing or w/e), it's one hell of a ride. Very realistically difficult, like in RL. I'm just blown away with all this, pardon my ignorance.

The grind is real, which is a minus because the replayability is shit.
Could use some fresh DLC content too, the endgame is taking decades to get to.

Only real factor that keeps me coming back is the payout every fortnight.

well i started it yesterday, an irl friend on Steam saw me online on the game ... and he told me "take that and do as i say" well i'd be damned, i got him BG3 for his birthday, so he got me a 50chf giftcard for Steam and the "as i say" was : start the game do the tuto then unlock Bunny, her Carrier skin and Bunny heart makeup/haircut

alright, you're the boss ... well he was right to tell me to pick Ajax ... in Overwatch when we played together ... i usually played Reinhardt

Nah you can in fact farm out Ultimate Bunny 100% free but that will take you quite some time, shes a top tier speed farmer but for bossing you might need another Descendant anyway.
This is not the game where you do everything with 1 char, I mean you can force it but that wont be optimal at all with the current stuff.
The YT content creator 'Moxsy' who I've watched for Borderlands 3 stuff and he actually knows his way around this genre already has guides and builds up on his channel so I will just follow those cause I simply cannot afford to waste my time and resources in a game like this.

When the Devs know...they know pretty well ...goddamnnnnn bunny !! Hurra for the culture!!!

I hope that the game does pretty well and stays alive for the years to come, that will be the best answer.
