So who’s paying $100 for GTA 6 then?

I would only buy the game (irrelevant of price, because the gameplay was very good on 5) if they pull their heads out of their arses and implement ANY anti cheating measures. I stopped playing GTA 5/Online because it was completely ridiculous in open lobbies to the point you had to have invulnerability permanently on, an even then you'd get someone who killed everyone from time to time.
Battleye anti-cheat has improved the gameplay a lot , but rockstar came up way too late with this measure.
Players harassing other players that are not in CEO or MC mode and ruining others gameplay should be banned to bad sports lobbies much faster.
Then they can go kill each other over there. I don't get why such gamers even play GTA instead of real shooter games.

Because of rockstar not caring about gamers, I won't be paying 100$ for a fresh frustrating experience.

Yeah after seeing how they milked GTAV I won't be paying full price for it. Most likely I'll buy it during discount, that is after I read the reviews of it. I only wanted to play single player portion of it.
Same. I remember trying online with X360 for 15 minutes and that was enough for me.

The single player portion of GTA V alone was easily worth the asking price.

I'm not the biggest fan of the series. I wouldn't mind sparing a tenner, but that's the most they'll see from me.

#23 Go on show how you are unable to express yourself. only with pictures. Did you start the game fresh in 2023? A few months after it was a epic game giveaway? Did you play the first scenes from the single player mode in whqd? When it's a free single player epic game giveaway game I usually install it after a while and test it.

there are no decent game mechanics. Teh long dark / subnautica / deusx / kingdom come deliverance which i mentioned have decent game mechanics.

Why should someone play GTA V? There are so many alternatives. This is a serious question.

I'm waiting ( you can't - you can only post a picture - and that's it)

For those games i mentioned (hint: Teh long dark / subnautica / deusx / kingdom come deliverance) I can write several sentences why I enjoyed it. Why I like it. Why I spend time on that game.

The only way i'd pay that for GTA6 would be if they released for pc first and coksole second, if they'd stop showing preference to the console market and make us pc players wait years to play, however seeing how that won't happen the answer is no, I REFUSE.

hell no.
especially not after seeing the trailer and the people who developing it.

I'd rather replay Sleeping Dogs.

I want the game, bit i will not pay 100 usd. Specially if that's only for the base game. Meaning not even a special or ultimate version.

Sure, make resaleable physical copies with nice booklets and shit a thing again and I'm ready to pay $100. Digital "you own it but not really" - haha, no, I'll wait for sales, thank you.
yeah. err wait for sales... wink wink correct.

Rockstar is a predatory company that had one original idea many years ago and has coasted on its reputation ever since. None of their games are worth $60, let alone $100.

That won't stop dumb Americans from buying GTA VI in droves, just like they buy Call of Duty in droves, because these games represent the height of storytelling to them.

Hahaha, I honestly have zero interest in the single player side (shooting was always ass in GTAs and I don't care for its stories - rather watch a movie, lol) and online tomfoolery with friends is pay only.

I will not even pirate it. GTA IV was the last playable GTA game. GTA V is just a Fortnite on a RAGE engine. GTA VI... not sure if Fortnite will be worse at that point.

Its really simple though, GTA is the best rendition of being inside a gangster flick with hollywood production allure. Be The Godfather, or the eternal bum, the American Psycho or all of it at any given time you like. The open world and immersive qualities it offers to support that vibe are incredibly good.

But it gets old. GTA V didn't touch me at all even though I did finish the SP, IV wasn't fun, but I spent over 600 hours in GTA 3, SA and VC combined. And there aren't many alternatives at all, none of them get even remotely near what GTA has produced. Production quality is high, gameplay is fun, and within the game, the concept is fully explored. You see a plane. You want to fly it. You can fly it.

If it's 100 dollars then I will wait for a sale. It might take a year but I've waited this long another year won't matter. Plus waiting a year I might have hardware that can run it well. lol

*Looks at the absolutely broken state of GTA 5, where a full priced AAA game printed RockStar billions of dollars by tacking on "micro transactions" in the form of shark cards. Sees that the parent company aggressively pursues lawsuits against modders, while releasing remakes of old games that kill all of the old versions but have been strung together by the D team that they outsourced it to. Continues to look at the dichotomy between being a silly "do anything" type game, and the literal hours and days of grind required to purchase in-game content that can be obliterated by nearly anyone (thank you railgun), and gets really tired.*

No. I will not spend the price of nearly two games to get an experience akin to pulling teeth, when the same cost can get me an entire cart of games on a steam sale that will do everything that GTA does but better because they don't require an exceptional grind to have my toys taken from me because the game basically rewards taking pot-shots compulsively at any player you meet.

That said, RockStar will release something that expensive. They'll likely have a base edition at $80...and people will buy it like mad. The industry as a whole will believe that this enables everyone in AAA land to charge that price, and there will be games that flop because of it. Nobody will learn that the pricing scheme is something that you should not mess with, and in two years there will be no publishers because MS and Valve will make owning anything verboten, and all major publishers will be farmed out as content grind-houses. Indies will "fix" this, and in ten years we'll be talking about the AA developers who swooped in after the games collapse forming their own new EAs. Hopefully this time though, they'll take a hint from Devolver and not repeat the excesses of the past.

Red dead redemption 2 is maybe the best rockstar game.

As someone who has never played any games from rockstar yet, I wouldn't pay such high value for a video game. Most of the time I wait for steam sales and buy most of triple AAA or double AA games for 20-30 bucks or even less. (and indies even cheaper) Even if it would be HL3, I wouldn't be paying that high amount for a game. 100$ per game can't be the norm going forward.

If you're buying most of your games these days through steam, its better to wait for seasonal sales in steam that happen through the year. Biggest ones being winter and summer sale. ALL of my games I buy them on steam sales. Very rarely pay full price for a game this days.

Perhaps the best horse riding simulator, sure. Everything else screams, "we modded GTA V."

My favourite R* games are GTA III and Manhunt (both I and II). They are genuine, unlike RDR2.

no. i am burned out on GTA5, and consequently GTA6. funny thing, the burnout happed when i ran gtav on the 7900xtx,(and completely finishing cp2077, on ps4pro, ps5, PC. CP2077 looks so much better…)
running gtav everything maxed, and noticed that the dips to 43fps were due to the loading of textures. i now regret buying all the hardware just to see gtav in 4k. (now that can see it in 4k60, nothing special. should have realized this when TPU dropped gtav like a hot potato from the testing suite.

maybe 30 on sale, for ps5pro, and pc. i paid 60 for cp2077, (the game and phantom liberty) both on ps5 and pc. not going to pay more than 30 for gta6.

although, might get the [DODI] 6 version from TL…

I am deeply ashamed to say that I have spent more on a single character on Genshin Impact. I'm part of the problem.

GTA VI will be a console exclusive for the foreseeable future, anyway. Until Rockstar releases the PC version I won't be playing it.

100 dollars for GTA 6 is a bit steep. Who’s going to pay that then, think it will be worth it?

I don't care for GTA, so I won't, lol
(and I'm PC only so far, so I don't care for console games either)

I'm more interested in the ramifications tho

If GTA6 does release at 100... How many people are gonna buy it at that price? If it turns out to be a flop because of the price, would other publishers still try to get closer to 100 (say 70/80/whatever)?

It won't come for pc for years anyways... when it does come, i will get a cheap key at some point.
